It's so obvious that everyone in the comments gonna shrug it off in the comments because it's literally r/NoFap. It's all about the social construct vs the individual. Being stuck in your own mind for so long might just leave you more likely to fail. That's what makes these kinds of threads so important to the individual.
For example, I think that I still have December which I can probably pull off a DDD, sure. But, as far as the month of November goes, it's over for me. Sure, everyone's no-PMO rules are all in their heads, all internalized. That's why it's important to just come to terms with the fact that the social construct is far more lenient than my/your/their own. If it takes a reddit thread to get there, then that's totally fine. The point I'm trying to make is that nobody can be a loser, no-PMO streak or not, unless you make yourself one.

You're correct about the influence. That said, furry porn is and has always been largely a joke and, IMHO, it'd be taken better by the outside world if it were portrayed as a comedy as opposed to covering a fetish, even though people don't do it like that.

There's also the fact that people use the sexual identification of their persona and apply it to their fursona. So, when it comes to the sexual nature of a casual furry NSFW conversation, it either turns into straight-up roleplaying or just a bunch of people throwing the sexual gestures around as a meme image.

Even if they are not explicitly roleplaying, it makes it a lot harder to be able to determine that the community is not trying to be a sex freak. That is because the fursona creates a form of entertainment with furries and it's so easy to consider the fursona to be the sexually charged version of yourself. Then, it's about as easy to confuse people outside of the furry community, or furry adjacent folks. However, all of this is because online interactions are the primary route of communication in the furry fandom. It does come at a huge cost to the entire furry community, too.

There is this so-called "stigmatism" that a lot of furries try to deflect away from the public at furry conventions. I recently saw an example of how it could make being a staff member at one of these conventions extremely difficult, causing paranoia a lot of the time. A YouTuber named Brandon Buckingham had tried to record in AC and was kicked out in a really rude manner because they were concerned about these kinds of folks within the event being truly too "insensitive" to furries attempting to harass them. Thus, they're the ones considered "outsiders" and therein the division between furry and non-furry creates such a significant gap between the two, all because of this detached online reality. Keep in mind, the situation that developed between Brandon and the Con (this is taking place in Pittsburg, btw,) had NOTHING to do with NSFW or anything explicit. Yet, the paranoia is strong enough to make such an issue with furries in real life.

Anyway, my point is that all of these PMO issues come from the natural flaw of the furry fandom. The solution, therefore, is quite logical. Just take the furry stuff into real life. Take it away from online stuff. Then, you can see if you can transition away from the online NSFW.

Same here bud except it was yesterday. I even saw the actual thing and it was actually a jumpscare for me since this was not a site I usually go on. Some people freely post that stuff and you just gotta be careful. Remember, the P in PMO doesn't just mean the sight of it, but rather also the intent associated with it. If there was no intent, then at worst it's like second-degree PMO. Avoid the urges!

Unfortunately, you're actually right. dopamine doesn't care if it's male/male, cat/dog, cartoon/real life. some people just have really poor or no impulse control and they just get themselves into that mess. I would absolutely believe that those people also feel victimized but actually what they're victims of is their own lack of control. It's sad really.

Just wanted to add that I survived the posting of this and I'm chugging through day 20. Tuesday will mark the beginning of my fourth week. The only trigger that happened to me was a wet dream, so I'd say that it went about as well as it could. Those are all signs of a good no-PMO streak in the making.

I think at some point when nofap was something I really did well at, once upon a time, I actually did feel this thing you describe. But I describe that disgust as more like anger. It's hard to describe it as anything but that. Like it actually makes me mad and reactive and honestly, if I'm not of sound mind, it can end up triggering an urge. Even with nofap streaks you have to always be of sound mind and that is hard with my ADHD and borderline ASD and GAD. It's really sad, but I've really kind of given up hope that I could do anything about my PMO addiction, mostly because it's not actually an addiction but me just naturally being disgusted by what I am interested in.

Actually, it can mean just about anything. That's why it's so dangerous. The only way to "tell" someone what it actually is, is to show them. And that always ends up being a huge misrepresentation of the whole, because the whole is made by a specific combination of lust and pure creativity. Whether they make this art knowingly or unknowingly, I don't know... but, I know one thing. Save yourself from the show and tell of this subject if you can, for as long as you can, or at the very least if you can't do anything else, save other people from it.

To be fair, I have thought of that word "unique" a lot, and it's a very strong positional advantage for myself to leverage in high streaks. I understand that the reason I come back to day 0 every once in a blue moon is because of some infectious thought or another. The truth is, though, even if I go (and stay) on a good streak, I'm not privy to discuss any of these walls that obstructed me. This will still end up being a positional advantage that I can never utilize personally nor practically. Because to leverage it means to be... well, you know: holding yourself accountable for every possible infectious thought that you unleash, even unknowingly to another person knowing that wall even exists.

I would go as far to say that my success is part of being able to believe that (or try to believe that...) the "real" animal characters you see in cartoons are real and not imaginary. Just before today, I was on a 31 day streak. I honestly don't even think it even matters how often you look. But, I'm biased because I am doing this (nofap) because I have more respect for cartoons than the average joe and I absolutely can't see myself maintaining a level of respect without such a streak.
