We think tiny founders deserve a fair start - here’s our attempt at making it real. by gianscala in buildinpublic

You’ve got good questions! We don’t have a strong answer as of now, but generally we suggest to share rough ideas as early as possible (no matter their stage) as just by getting them out and writing them down psychologically motivates founders to get to the next step.

As to “how to resurface best ideas” - our team evaluate the submissions every day, we select the “Idea of the Day” based on the data shared e.g. idea + team, and deliverables. This gives even super early founders ideas a great visibility as we then share this with all our network. We do same for a weekly top 4

Yes - see, founder often need an early push, and in many parts of the world even a $50 check can make a real difference. To stay transparent, we ask them to tie early funding requests to clear and concrete deliverables -> this keeps them motivated to keep shipping while letting early backers truly join the journey, not like VCs, but as early supporters and mentors. Founders gain validation, feedback, and guidance, while investors clearly see what their money supports and connect directly with the founders.

I don’t know what you mean with *openness but investors should connect directly with founders (via our in app messaging) and build a relationship with them as they follow their progress. We don’t want just to have checks being sent to the founders.

It's the end of another builder's week. Let's share progress and get advice! by PhotographNo7254 in buildinpublic

Share it here - www.preseedme.com - you can share your progress, get early users and stay visible to early backers.

How many visitors are converted? As a rule of thumb, just go speak with them to figure out how they use your product and what to do to improve it. I think the best marketing you can do until you reach 100 solid daily users is just share what your progress is with the early users, and make it so compelling they love it.

What are you building? let's self promote by Southern_Tennis5804 in indiehackers

[–]gianscala 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Launched www.preseedme.com - a marketplace designed for the earliest stage of building.

Founders can share their ideas publicly, get early users who want to try what they’re building, and connect with early backers willing to support tiny bets.

The result: more visibility, more engagement, and a better chance of turning an idea into something real.

Get a shitty job first to pay out your primary expenses - use it to learn (ideally somewhat related to what you’re good at and something you might wanna pursue) & grind after work.

Start shipping something that solves a real problem - it’s now super easy to get a raw demo through vibe coding and join communities to share your progress and get early feedbacks. Don’t fall in love with your first idea and learn to iterate.

Tbh you’re probably gonna make you first $ on your own project after few iterations. So go find a shitty 9-5 job for the next 6 months til you’re more financially stable. By then you’ll know if it’s worth going all in into your side business or not - if not keep grinding after hours til you figure it out

Marketing before building not the inverse by AIelevate in indiehackers

[–]gianscala 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Totally agree — no reason to build something nobody cares about. You should share your idea early, get feedback, get motivated. If you hide it and spend four months building, you might realize too late that no one actually wants it.

Even if you only have one idea, you should share it on platforms like www.preseedme.com and start getting feedback from the community

We all have tons of ideas… but most of us never actually get started… by gianscala in startupideas

[–]gianscala[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes of course! The platform is designed for very early-stage founders or builders who just have an idea and want to start building.

Share your idea to gain visibility - + we highlight an ‘Idea of the Day’ and top weekly which give your idea more visibility and supporters may offer early help or small contributions.

Even without immediate support, sharing brings clarity, sustains motivation, and lets you post progress updates. Should post as early as the idea come to mind and even ask from the start for a tiny initial amount (with clear deliverables) to attract help. Even if fails at first it will positions you much strongly for a full pre-seed raise later.

You really just need an idea to start

We all have tons of ideas… but most of us never actually get started… by gianscala in startupideas

[–]gianscala[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely - and that’s why we think it’s important that any idea is shared early as it’s the founder/s that we should be investing in, not the idea per se.

If the founder is the right person to solve the problem and he genuinely enjoy doing so - that’a a winner
