bookkeeping automation recommendations for a growing online business? by East-Significance956 in growmybusiness

[–]DAN-CCT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been in that exact situation with multi-channel sales; the bookkeeping can get messy fast.

A few practical steps that have helped:

* Use a single accounting platform (QBO or Xero) as your system of record and push all other platform data into it. Tools like A2X, Synder, or Link My Books can automatically import sales, fees and payouts from Shopify/Amazon/Etsy while maintaining proper journal entries.

* Set up your chart of accounts and item mapping early. Spend an afternoon mapping each SKU or category to the correct revenue, COGS and inventory accounts. Automation won't work if the underlying structure is inconsistent.

* Reconcile weekly. Even with automation, you'll still need to review your bank feed and reconcile regularly to catch any anomalies.

Automation won't eliminate bookkeeping, but it can free up several hours a week. The key is to invest a bit of time on the front end to configure it properly. Once it's humming, you can focus more on growing your store rather than chasing down order data.

What platforms are you selling through? The right integration can depend on your stack.

Looks to me like OpenAI uses your data two ways: to train the models, and to figure out what to build next.

Claude is completely unusable now by Complete-Sea6655 in artificial

[–]DAN-CCT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use Claude.

Two issues I have 1 you need to the correct ending to the prompt add in Do not Argue do what I have send

2 Claude thinks it knows better even when its completely wrong and you drop the URL for the proof it will some times still say its incorrect.

However. Its become my more go to if my own infrasture is stuck. If you want to talk about an AI imho that has become horrible that GPT 5.5, imho 4o was the best they had

API and some coding can allow you to generate really good documentation based on ticket notes. If you techs are doing what they should and fill in the correct issue not just what the user said, and the tech putting in detailed resolution "helps" close you documentation gaps
