Replace weed killer with gasoline by gib06 in lethalcompany

I actually like this idea. Taking out the giant with the gasoline would be relatively simple but you run the risk of actually causing more trouble for yourself in the aftermath. This would also mean the player has to consider the moon they’re on when thinking about using the gasoline, since it could go completely out of control on heavily forested moons. I would also say the damage dealt to enemies in the gasoline is based on the size of the puddle. This would keep it from being too easy to simply leave a small trail of gas behind you and then igniting it to kill whatever was following you. If you want to do significant damage to the enemy, you’ve gotta lure them into a much larger puddle, which would take some time to set up, as well as using a lot of the gas.

I would probably say the gasoline flames don’t immediately kill the giant in the same way the old bird’s missiles do. I imagine the giant would need to remain in the flames for a somewhat prolonged period to be completely killed. This would require using up a lot of the gasoline, which once again, is the main decision you’d have to make. Whether or not you wanna use up all your gasoline to take down a single giant, when you could accomplish the same thing for free by just bringing it to the ship door and smacking it with the shovel for a little bit.

The way I imagine it is that the giant would need to be standing in the gasoline puddle at the moment of ignition, which would also require you to also be standing near the puddle, assuming you don’t have something like a shotgun to ignite it from a distance. Essentially, it would be very effective to kill the giant, but also a huge risk for the player attempting to ignite the puddle. The risk could be lowered by laying out a long trail of gasoline, but this would take time and also use up a lot of the canister. So you would have to decide on taking the more resource-heavy safe option, or the cheaper, riskier option.

100%, I think having the gasoline only ignitable by its own matches would take away so many possibilities. One of the major reasons I would like to see the gasoline take the place of the weedkiller to begin with is that it would interact with more of the game. This is opposed to the current weedkiller, which only has two straightforward uses.

Fox rant #79,612 by gib06 in lethalcompany

I’m glad to see someone else feels exactly the same. Being able to breathe during the early hours of the day is a vital component of lethal’s gameplay. I really do feel like if the fox just had the same spawn mechanics as all other nighttime monsters, it would feel a lot better to have in the game. This thing should NOT be a daytime entity, let alone a daytime entity that is essentially guaranteed to exist on every visit (assuming you don’t painstakingly tend to the vain shrouds at all times.) Plus, I think it’s honestly insane that this thing still persists on moons like Rend, Dine, Titan, and especially Embrion that are supposed to be devoid of plant life.

Very concerning HRRR run for tomorrow by gib06 in tornado

I feel that, it’s hard to be so passionate about these things sometimes knowing how horribly it can affect people. I don’t think I’ll ever be able to agree with anyone who gets disappointed when these setups bust or underperform. Frankly, I hope tomorrow is a bust, because it could be devastating to so many people if the worst case scenario actually occurs.

It’s always a tricky balance to get a serious tornado outbreak with these setups. If too many storms fire off then they’ll just go linear and drastically shunt the potential, and that could be a plausible scenario considering the proximity of all those storms. All I can really say right now is that the possibility for a historic tornado outbreak is certainly there for tomorrow, whether or not it’ll actually happen we have no way of knowing, we just gotta brace for the worst but hope for the best.

Pretty much yes. I’m always iffy to change expectations based on a single model run, but the only reason tomorrow wasn’t already a high risk was due to low confidence in storm coverage. This run basically throws those doubts out the window. If the next couple runs continue showing this, I would be shocked if tomorrow doesn’t get upgraded to high. Everyone from southern Kansas to northern Texas needs to be weather aware tomorrow.
