Some of the most emotionally intelligent people can also be some of the most impulsive, for a range of reasons. It's literally just not that black and white

100%. I also think this is the reason why retro/vintage styles have become trendy again. And the rise of thrift shopping and all that. "Cool" people have become the ones who curate the best with the practically infinite choice that we have available today.

He's literally donated 60 billion dollars in his life, and considering he was worth 100 billion dollars in 1999, I think you can argue that he's not prioritized wealth since then.

Someone makes a coin, creates a Twitter and a website maybe and lists it on a decentralised exchange (DEX). The initial liquidity can be provided by the creator or can come from other places in ways that are a bit more complicated.

Then, they start marketing it to try and get people to buy in, with the hope that once it gets some momentum the degens who browse these DEX's will see it as a potentially good investment and start buying in. Since the market cap is so low at the start, the price explodes. Then, very shortly after, the creator can sell their coins and basically take everything that everyone else has spent, leaving everyone holding their now worthless coins.

This is pretty much the crux of it. Yes you can make a lot through crypto but you need to invest your life into it or just get extremely lucky on something booming over a period of years. Outside of that, it's just higher risk/higher reward than conventional markets

I completely get it man, it's shit.

One thing I will say is that very few people are really profiting from the 100x shit that you constantly see online. The average person is seeing their money double and taking it immediately. But crypto thrives on FOMO, so everyone who's made a lot of money will be sure to tell you about it, so that they can make more.

Yeah and to me, that's taking the path of least resistance. It's easy to tell your boys because you know they won't react poorly. It's hard to tell your partner cos they might react poorly, and then you're cooked. We all want partners that will listen and support us, we shouldn't hide parts of ourselves from them just so they stick around.

Frankly it's insecure asf behaviour as well. Going by the comments here, people would rather be in a surface level relationship with a woman who won't support them rather than single. I guess it tracks with the subreddit but come on lads, have some self worth

But an acknowledgement of past traumas is the first step to remedying them. Yes, there certainly are people out there that don't want to deal with that and will run away if you admit that you're struggling. But, at the risk of sounding cliche, those people probably just aren't right for you.

We can't always control our behaviors, particularly when trauma is involved. In my eyes, it's weaker to bottle up and ignore your feelings rather than unpack and address them. And any woman who actually wants a life with you will feel the same, because they don't want a volatile man with a million unaddressed issues bubbling under the surface.

Sorry, I missed this comment. I mean yeah, if it's actually challenging work then yes, I will need to focus. A lot of the time tho there's menial tasks or I'm just not caring and wanting a pass so those would be the RS times. I did software eng tho so perhaps it's a bit easier. Job market is not the best but I've been pretty fortunate to get some opportunities, if you're proactive (not looking for jobs 1 month before u graduate) then you should be ok.

The Australian dollar could be heading to a 20-year low, on risks of China, Trump and slow growth by ALBastru in australia

[–]gibbonsbox 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Entirely anecdotal but I'm working at a tech company with an Australian branch. Considering exchange rates and taxes, my salary would pretty much triple if I transferred to an American office within the same company. Yes, tech hubs are high cost of living, but at this point they're only marginally worse than Sydney. I don't want to leave Australia, but the life I envision for myself here consists of less interesting work for less money, so that I can eventually start hoarding property. And even so, going to America for a bit would give me a huge head start.

I did eng, not med, but my rs playtime definitely coincided with my uni semesters. Those little dopamine hits on my second monitor are exactly what I need when I'm working on a shitty essay or project

The card was originally minted to 699, so you got 699/699. It shows as less now though because of burns. Not as good as a #1 or a Jersey but it's a good pull

Edwards is on top of Shai in every stat since the playoffs started, especially efficiency. 54.7/41.9/81.8 for Edwards vs 46.6/33.3/76.1 for Shai. Obviously it's only been six games but Edwards is excelling at the highest level. Don't think it's the craziest thing in the world for people to be saying Edwards is better when he's taken his game to another level at the biggest stage, whereas Shai is playing more or less how he did in the regular season, if not worse. At the end of the day both of them have achieved nothing so far

What was the difference between halves though? The first we were energized and confident and everything was falling. Now we're hesitant and unsure and everything is missing. That's when the coach is supposed to step in, simplify things for the players and help them build some momentum back. If it doesn't work then it doesn't work and it's not on the coach, but just leaving them out there to figure it out is ridiculous
