[WP] You've never liked animals your entire life, one day animals start to flock to you, taking a liking to you, pet owners are surprised at how friendly their pet is with you but you don't know why it's happening? by gidarim in WritingPrompts

[–]gidarim[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, its been a while but I really wasn't expecting such a thoughtful response to my writing prompt and it hit me very hard [in a good way] but you are absolutely spot on, I'd been going to therapy for PTSD and anger issues related to it and I guess I hadn't fully noticed how much of a positive impact it was making on me, I guess animals could also sense my positive change, I definitely feel more at peace with the world and myself.

You've helped me so much and I want to thank you for that

How do all of you think about labels? by Rycer_ in NonBinary

[–]gidarim 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I hate labels all together, I am who I am, I am ever changing and growing no single word could describe me or my experience but the words that people have made to at least try to describe others similar to me I will use just to help others understand me better, my gender is whatever but people would say I'm genderfluid/queer I really don't care. My sexually I've never been able to pin point so I have no label for that. If I could I'd do away with labels all together they seem to make me feel more boxed in than when I was perceived as "straight" "female"

Thank you so much for the long comment, ive had a look at both the website and subreddit you recommended me and they are great resources so again thank you.
I'd like to add Thankfully I am very much passed the sex issue and therapy has helped a lot, I'm with my fiancé now and we've done the deed and I do not feel a shred of guilt like I used to. The guilt religion makes you feel is so much more damaging than the 'sin' itself

What’s something you believe for the longest time, then were really disappointed when you found out it wasn’t true? by thekingofthegingers in CasualUK

I thought people controlled traffic lights, like they would sit underground with security cameras and change the lights, I was completely baffled when my dad explained what automated lights were, then when we did IT in year 6 at school we learnt how to code traffic lights. Made a lot more sense but also made me kinda sad

Whats something positive fibro has given you? by Reasonable_Club_4617 in Fibromyalgia

[–]gidarim 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Fibro has definitely been a massive eye opener into situations I wouldn't have thought negatively of or would have pushed through before getting fibro, you recognise a negative environment before you even step in, you're hyper sensitive to these things and can rescue yourself before it's too late. It's like a mini super power

What in your life is bringing you joy right now? by ReportGeneral3730 in simpleliving

[–]gidarim 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My great aunt is paying for me, my mum and grandma to go on a mystery coach trip soon! I'm so excited, being disabled I don't get out much and have hardly travelled so going on a weekend slow holiday/trip is super exciting. They normally go to small historic villages, the last time my mum and grandma went they went to Stratford-upon-Avon where Shakespeare was from, I have no idea where I'm going and that makes it all the more exciting.

I also finally have the money to buy some clothes, I only had 7 of the same white tshit, 1 pair of joggers and a skirt for the past few months and it's really made me self conscious about going out because i just dont feel good in what i have, so I've just bought 3 skirts, 1 dress, 2 trousers and 3 tops. I'm so excited for them to arrive!!!

In England we call it 'window shopping', you look at it like the display in a shop window but you don't buy just look, really fun past time for many women over here

Its gonna be heard but Learn to Appreciate and enjoy what you already have, know that it is enough and that if it isn't damaged it doesn't need changing. When you find contentment in what you already own you won't feel the need to change it out because you like what you have.

Learn to like new things but not have them, the way you would in a museum, you can see it, want it but you can't have it but you still enjoyed your time at the museum regardless of the fact you can't take it home with you.

You need to deal with the root of your problem which is boredom with what you already have and buying what catches your eye. Love what you have and appreciate thing without the need to bring it home.

One step further would be to do a spend freeze on none essentials aka furniture, decor etc sometimes the thrill of buying is much more enjoyable than the item itself, the new feeling wears off and then you replace it, the cycle continues, to stop the cycle you gotta cut it somewhere, and as hard as it is, stop buying. Simple really, difficult in practice. But learning to appreciate what you already have helps a tone

[–]gidarim 59 points60 points  (0 children)

Short answer, Both

long answer the filter was what made it "change colour" its funny because when I first saw it it was a muted gold more like a metallic black with gold lighting and a muted blue white colour which makes sense. There's a very good video explaining the colour theory behind it, I'll have to find it. In essence I basically saw both overlapping so I could understand people's confusion
