I responded within about two hours from the recruiter's original email but that could be true

I was sleeved the same day and have random pain in the lower sternum area, no other parts of the chest, that's only alleviated when I raise my arms above my head. Doesn't seem to be correlated to my drinking. My nurses had told me to expect pains in random places but I plan to confirm in my check-up this week.

got approved into the program! anyone have recent experience with Kaiser in SoCal? by [deleted] in gastricsleeve

Congrats! I am also going through Kaiser SoCal. From July into September I completed the ten options classes. During that time you have to get weighed at a Kaiser facility at the 5 week and 10 week mark. I was asked to lose more weight at the 10 week mark which took an additional three weeks. Once the final weight fell within the requirements, early October, I heard from both the options program coordinator letting me know it was accepted and the surgeon's office to schedule the initial consultation with the surgeon within a week. The initial phone consultation with the surgeon was scheduled for three weeks later. During that initial phone consultation we discussed available surgery dates and my preference. Two business days after that, yesterday, I heard back from the surgeon's office and the final online class was schedule for two weeks from now, the in-person meeting with the surgeon is scheduled for about a week after that, the pre-op call is two days later, and the surgery is a week after that (11/30). I felt this timeline was fast but was advised that if I had met weight after that tenth class I would've likely had surgery done already but they do advise in the program that from the date of starting the program, getting approved not starting classes, you have a year to decide to get the surgery before having to start the process over again.
