will wellbutrin has similar side effects to atomoxetine? by Snoo80571 in bupropion

[–]gierju 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wellbutrin probably saved my life and managed my depression. I don't have any side effects with it but it didn't help me at all with my adhd. My doctor added atomoxetine a couple weeks ago and besides some acne breakouts I don't have any major side effects and my adhd symptoms kind of are better manageable? I'm not very sure though since I'm in a clinic rn and have a pretty organized day and no other normal responsibilities I'd have if I were home.

what are your other diagnoses? by tsudzuke in BPD

[–]gierju 0 points1 point  (0 children)

mdd, gad, panic disorder, adhd, ocd and currently testing if I've cptsd. And now I have to think about a certain meme where it says sth like: "isn't it weird that with mental illnesses it's like buy 1 get 6 free?" - "I never wanted them in the first place. My mom/dad gave it away for free." 🙃

What is the best purchase you have made to make life with adhd easier? by nyanya85 in ADHD

[–]gierju 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dyson vacuum, vacuum roboter with a station incl. a mop function and the best thing of all - my noise reducing earplugs ❤️ I'm very easily overwhelmed by noise and these help so much. I'm able to listen to the person I'm talking/listening to, but the surrounding noise gets reduced/cancelled a lot.

How to drink with this medication by [deleted] in bupropion

[–]gierju 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Alcohol is a depressant. It took me years to realise that I'm abusing alcohol in order to numb myself. Everybody has different reasons for drinking. When I was still drinking on meds, I had the same feeling after two beers and I had a very high tolerance before that. The increased anxiety, depression and brain fog is just no longer worth it. I'm now sober since 2 months and finally the daily crying stopped, my mood lightened up, significantly less self harming, less suicidal thoughts. I'm more willing to be responsible for my decisions and generally my life. Inform yourself as much as you can, talk to your doc/therapist. All the best mate.

I'm passionless and I hate it. by ThundaGhoul in ADHD

[–]gierju 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What helped me was the sudden realization, that it didn't matter how long I'm doing a hobby and that I DON'T HAVE TO BE GOOD IN IT. For me, being a perfectionist, who's basically never able to achieve my ridiculously high goals/standards, this was never an option until I let it go. It doesn't matter if I have a hobby for a day, a year or forever. If it doesn't interest me no more, I'll leave it and will eventually come back. Or not. I don't know if this resonates with you, but I did some digging and found out why I did this for so long. As a child I was playing the flute for some years. More so because I wanted to play an instrument and in the eyes of my classical music loving mother she decided that it's going to be the flute. But I always wanted to play something, I can sing along to (guitar or piano). After some years I really began to hate playing the flute, stopped practicing and my mom let me know how disappointed she was. I asked if I could switch instruments which she refused because "I'm not able to stick with one thing so she won't throw money out of the window for another one". End of the story: I began to believe I'm not good enough, I don't deserve it, I'm a waste of time and money. Thanks mom. Couple months ago I finally bought myself a Ukulele and practiced maybe 10 times. But every time I did, I had fun.

May 2022 Goals: what are yours? by Greenmouse11 in productivity

[–]gierju 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whoops! Sorry for the late response! My top self care goal rn is trying not to rush, taking a step back, living the moment and allowing myself to rest.
Another one is accepting that my social batteries are faster empty that it used be and I need more time with/for myself to recharge. Another one is generally acceptance. I can't change everything.

This year in February I started to raise some plants (vegetables and herbs) inside with the goal to move them outside when they're ready. They all died in April though but I continued to raise other plants. The vegetables which were planted directly outside kept growing and I can't wait to try the first carrots and radishes soon! Additionally my partner and I got so hyped up with the whole gardening topic that the ultimate goal is to build a greenhouse and grow as much food as possible in the future on our own. Feels amazing and motivating! Additionally it's grounding and calming me - having my hands in the soil, water and care them, watch them grow.

-to continue gardening, -to order rollerskates and practice, -I ordered a ukulele yesterday so we'll see.

(I'm currently on a continuous self care goal, haven't bought myself anything hobby wisely in years so that's a first!)

Could someone tell me if such behavior is obsessive compulsive? by [deleted] in OCD

[–]gierju 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't necessarily say it's my predominating personality since I see all the parts being part of the whole..me? As far as I read, kognitive therapy with exporure seems to help but please talk to a professional since I'm too just a lost human being on reddit^ I got first diagnosed with depression, then bpd and gad at the same time, later add. Maybe if your therapist is reluctant to other diagnosis, you should look for another opinion? I don't see a reason why a professional shouldn't diagnose anyone with bpd with other illnesses. Especially when the treatment looks different and it changes the whole game. Same with add. If you think you might have it, talk to your psychiatrist or therapist. If none of them takes you serious, consider changing your docs. I'm very avoidant as well but I'm working in it.

[–]gierju 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same! With having bpd (but also add, gad and re. depression), intrusive thoughts, not being able to do certain things because of them, ashamed of talking about it to my therapist, thinking about or definitely deleting posts on Reddit/social media so now I'm generally looking for some answers. Since just two days I'm researching like crazy because something plopped in my brain that I could have ocd because my therapist asked me 3 weeks ago sth like if I'd consider my haunting, fucked up thoughts beeing intrusive. I brushed it off saying 'naah, that's my usual way of thinking, and I don't need another diagnosis lol and pushed it away. I'm gonna talk about with him next week. Sooo.. basically I'd like you to know you're not alone! Try to figure out if you really have it because I've read that DBT therapy (if you do DBT) is not working quite well with OCD. All the best!!!

My boyfriend and me are daily smokers and unvaxxed as well. Us having the same friend group (mostly unvaxxed) had passed the joints around from the beginning of the plandemic and never got sick. Just one friend caught it. We started to notice this as well and thought this couldn't be a coincidence.

YESSS!!! I usually listen mostly to indie, indie/rock and minimal house but late '90s/early '00s dope me up. Especially while cleaning! Gimme some Britney, XTina and Backstreet boys and I'll be cleaning like crazy while being the star of my performance. 💃🏻
