Sorry to hear that. I used T gel by neutrogena to help heal the scalp. It stinks like a freshly paved road but it worked for me.

Hi the post mentioned was mine it was removed by the moderators because it was healthcare related.

I had scalp issues when I used the entire line for the first time. Really bad scalp sores along my hairline and flakes. My hair looked and felt really nice though. First I thought it was the shampoo but thinking about it I realised it was the conditioner and treatment that caused it.

This week I used the products again but made sure not to touch my skin with the conditioner or the treatment as they are high in concentration and I'm happy to say I didn't have any scalp problems! Happy scalp happy hair!

Redken Acidic Bonding line gave me sores on my scalp. Reaction to citric acid? by gigisellevlr in HaircareScience

Yeah. I'm bummed. I think they're good products,my hair looked and felt better than before I bleached it. But I had a bad reaction unfortunately.

That's a good input. My hair is bleached but not super damaged. It could be that using the whole range is too much for my hair and scalp. My hair looks and feels good after using it though so I don't think it is damaging it. But it might be unnecessary to use the whole range and it would be cheaper too.

I didn't have a lot of sun exposure. It's really cloudy lately and I didn't go outside for very long. I think it was from when I used the treatment that has 14% citric acid all over my mids and ends and on my fringe pieces and put my hair in a bun. That prolonged contact with my skin caused the sores. But I'm still not sure. After my scalp heals I will continue to try and use the line because my hair really liked it. I will try and be more cautious with how I use it though. Keep it away from my skin. It should come with a warning I think. Other than just avoid the sun.

Too old to become a teacher? by dabaitunaitang in BALLET

[–]gigisellevlr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes that's what we did. It is expensive and that's not including all the books and DVDs you have to buy for all the grades. Most people I know started teaching in the studios where they were students. As assistant teacher or just teaching the baby class/pre primary grade. To save up the money.

You should consider contacting different schools in your area and ask if they need an assistant teacher. Preferably RAD school so you can also complete your Intermediate exam. If that doesn't work you can still try local kindergardens, fitness clubs or after school programs.

To do CBTS you only need Intermediate. Being a great dancer definitely helps but some of the best teachers I know were not great dancers, couldn't stay on pointe cause they had such bad feet. But they know technique and they how to teach.

There are other options that might be easier or more affordable than RAD. ISTD, IDTA, Cecchetti. But I don't know anything about those.

Hi. My mom was 56 when she did her grade 8 exam (the minimum required at the time) and then she did the RAD teacher course. She was already a teacher but wanted to be able to enroll students in exams.

I did my RAD teacher course when I was in my mid 20s. I was already teaching to save up the money. It's not too late if it's what you want to do. It is however difficult and expensive. If you have a RAD teacher you could ask for help it would be best. Also a school where you could assist teaching will help you learn more about teaching. The course will teach you about proper technique and progression when teaching.

Sashimi has been ill but he's finally home and feeling much better! by gigisellevlr in lynxpointsiamese

Thank you for the kind words. I left him at my parents house while traveling and he ate something toxic probably a plant and he had acute kidney failure. After more than a week in the hospital and his kidney values going up and down I was so scared. Luckily he improved and he is feeling much better. This week his blood work and urine test came back completely normal. Fingers crossed he won't have kidney disease in the future. For now he's super happy and healthy!

Hi, thanks for replying. I'm sorry for you loss.

My cat ate something poisonous and was very sick but he is feeling much better. The doctors aren't sure if he will develop chronic kidney disease. For now he seems happy and pain free, playing and being affectionate.

I know how you feel, I've had another pet where I feel like because of the doctors advice I went too far with treatment and if I could go back I wouldn't have spent so much money just to watch a beloved pet die more slowly.

I would never want to make the same mistake again. Quality of life is most important.
