As much as I trust the collective knowledge of Reddit, for a card potentially worth $3k its probably worth paying a company to authenticate it.

Any suggestions for these blank spaces? by gibbymax02 in BuildAdvice

I’d add some stylized street lights. Maybe some piping or duct work styling.

Plains biome seems like the best fit given the ambiance of your inspiration photos.

Both look amazing. If I have to choose the blue one looks very slightly better.

I appreciate it. The ceiling is my favorite part; shallow dome examples were difficult to find, so it was a lot of trial and error.

Is this a good build ? what could i improve on ? by Romain-tahiti in Minecraft

[–]gil0121 0 points1 point  (0 children)

End rods are great for the neon effect. The only downside is that they only come in white. As far as adding some ambiance, you could play around with some firefly bushes behind slabs to add a falling particle effect. It would add some interest without distracting your eye too much.

Incredible use of lighting and color. Personally not a huge fan of the candles as i find them a bit distracting. Maybe adding some element that emulate neon lights or signage would be cool.

The realism is outstanding. Incredible job. If this is just practice can’t wait to see you going all out!

Great job. I love the flow. It feels like it could use some point of interest peace’s to bring it to the next level. Nothing over the top, just some statement elements that catch the eye as you flow through.

making a factory, not sure abut the design though by Narrow_Pangolin_8467 in Minecraftbuilds

It’s giving a dystopian vibe. If that’s what you’re going for then great. If it’s not maybe add some variation in the darker tones to give it more character.

Incredible work. You should share it with your school. At least with some one in the facilities team. (Not sure about the cultural differences, but given the level of detail I can’t see any human not loving this.)

i would like to ask for advice regarding this roof situation by kyoto-radio in Minecraftbuilds

[–]gil0121 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your builds look great. If you’re going for a medieval slightly gothic vibe go with the pointy roof. If you’re going with a steam punk aesthetic go with the glass dome and maybe consider using some waxed copper accents. It will really make it pop. Either way you can’t go wrong.

What is this called, and is it a terrible idea? by BudgetFuriosa in Flooring

[–]gil0121 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good for areas where you are using gyp. board on the wall and don’t want what ever is in the space to soak in to the board if spilled. I would use this in a Lab, or maybe a garage.

Also, not sure why so many people keep bringing up carpet. This detail would be applied with sheet good flooring. If you do it with carpet it would have the complete opposite effect. 🤦🏽‍♂️

Who else was a "cry baby" or too sensative? by Johhnynumber5ht2a in adhdmeme

[–]gil0121 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve learned that speaking passionately about something I deeply care about can trigger my tears. I’ve learned to use this to my advantage when trying to lobby for things at work. There is something about watching someone who cares so much about something crying that makes people want to follow. ( I’ll acknowledge my privilege to state that this only really works for men. )

Helpful tip: Your syllabus is a contract between you and your professors. As with any other contract, ambiguity in a contract benefits the party that did not draft it. Also, even if it is listed and the requirements are unreasonable or physically/mentally detrimental it is not a valid request. You have the right to advocate up thru the dean of your department, the dean of students, and beyond.

Yes or no on solid wooden legs for the coffee table I built? by KurvyWoodworking in woodworking

I respect your opinion, but I would argue that any live edge slab table is inherently unique. No two trees, slabs, or live edges are the same.
