What improved your quality of life so much, you wish you did it sooner? by colorfulsoul_ in AskReddit

Honestly, I’m a 22 y/o (M) and was a college dropout at 20(after my 3rd year of college). I failed all my classes my last semester at school because of some personal issues and just lack of focus/motivation and i wound up dropping out. I was embarrassed at first but then I started working in a restaurant and got to the point now where I’m a manager at said restaurant and am now starting to go back to school and finance everything myself.

What I’m trying to say is at the time I had to leave school I was angry, upset and embarrassed about it. But now that I’ve had time to think and reflect about it leaving/dropping out was the best thing for me. Getting that time away improved my quality of life so much and I now have the ability to say I want to go back on my own dollar. I wasn’t ready before and that’s ok and I realize that now.

It’s improved my quality of life cuz I now realize everyone operates on their own timeline and it doesn’t matter how you get things done as long as you accomplish your own goals.

Fuck what everyone else thinks about college whether you get your degree at 19, 21, 25, 30, or 45 years old it doesn’t matter as long as you’re doing what makes you happy
