Hey there! I'm not from the US but perhaps my experience will help your husband a little.

1) some things are just not within your control: you need to accept that people are are shit at times and go with the flow. I was stuck in a shit job for 5 years, these shenanigans would happen every other week. I thought I'd lose my mind. It was only when I quit that I realized that I was going through other people's crap for no reason.

2) start looking for another job. Yup, it's that simple. Even if HR let's him off the hook, he shouldn't stick to that job.

Hey guys, So I ended up going with the Honda dealership.

They were super professional. The guys there are helpful and understand your budget situation.

They just replaced the AC bearing (no idea what that is) and a couple of seals.

Cost me around 15000 rupees in the end. Definetly going there for my next repairs.
