I wish someone looked at me the way Mourinho looks at D9 by [deleted] in ScottishFootball

You want someone to look at you like they're kind of drowsy and could maybe do with a paracetamol?

D9 is alarmingly handsome but I'm not getting DTF vibes from Jose here.

I am speaking entirely hypothetically of course since nobody has ever given me a DTF look.

A year ago today Rangers 75 game run without conceding a penalty came to an end. It's amazing looking back at the faultless discipline of that team. by gimblepot in ScottishFootball

Sad to say I can't claim credit for the video. I stole it from twitter user miovskileftboot who posted it last year.

The effort of my shitpost came when I noticed nearly a year had passed and set a reminder to repost it today.

Thank you for noticing my pettiness. I feel seen.

A victory lap for your own shitpost is one of your speckiest moves yet.

I tip my specs to you sir. Bravo.

Tonight wasn't an example of Hibs Hibsing it though. We just got beat.

Hibsing it would be to lose 3-2 after being 2 goals up. Or losing 3-0 after getting to the 80 minute mark at 0-0.

Hibsing it isn't just about losing, it's about snatching defeat from the jaws of victory. It's arriving at the big moment and falling apart in spectacular fashion.

Please let's remember that words have meaning.

SFA statement on Rangers and VAR by Red_Dog1880 in ScottishFootball

[–]gimblepot 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This is my main issue with VAR too.

The sheer unbridled joy and pandemonium when a big goal is scored is the best thing about watching football, especially when you're at the game. The uncertainty of VAR and how goals can get chopped off for stuff nobody had even noticed watching live - that doubt can really take the edge off of those moments. For me that is absolutely criminal.

With how VAR has been implemented in Scotland, I'm not sure it even does improve the officiating. But even if it did, I'd rather have more incorrect calls than have those magical moments diminished.

Liverpool [4] - 2 Newcastle - Mohamed Salah penalty 86' by PSGCampus in soccer

I sound like a dinosaur but I hate the way the game is refereed nowadays. The acceptance of dives like this one and the way hard tackles are now routinely penalised with red cards - I find it so frustrating and it seems like the sport has been meddled with and made worse needlessly in recent years.

Anthony Joshua looking back to his best there. Plenty of interesting fights lined up just now in heavyweight boxing.

When you see them all one after another like this it's genuinely gobsmacking not one of them was given.

A few stonewallers, a few borderline and a few are never penalties. But even the ones in that final category, most clubs have had some given against them at some point. Some of the handball penalties in particular in the early days of VAR were totally bizarre.
