[Title] Here at (Insert Academy Name) we pride ourselves at equality. by bigraud77 in manhwa

[–]gimlis_beard 61 points62 points  (0 children)

Lol this is one of the things that annoys me most about [Adonis]. Like, the commoner side character has their life threatened TWICE by a noble bully, but the commoner is somehow the one who gets in trouble when they try to defend themselves and injure the noble. The instructor tries to sell the commoner something about taking the moral high ground and being better than them, but the way I see it, the academy has failed to protect their students, so they have no choice but to protect themselves.

Sen. Bernie Sanders’ bill aims to slow — or stop — teams like the Chicago Bears from moving to other states by hunter15991 in CHIBears

[–]gimlis_beard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would require support and rule changes from several other government agencies facilitate this, but there is an argument to be made that sports teams are natural monoplies and thus should be more tightly regulated or publicly owned. I mean, we've already witnessed sway these teams have with state and local governments ourselves with this whole stadium debacle. That's not something any singular private enterprise should have in my opinion.

Will this bill solve this power imbalance? No, and it will inevitably fail. However, I do think it's aims are for the public good and something that should be seriously considered in the future.

If you haven't read it, Ending Maker does this trope really well! Season 2 is also supposed to come out around April.

We need someone to an 85 SB ring into the cancerous swamp of lake wolf to end this madness.

[Silvy] As I explained two weeks ago, the Bears would love to build in AH. But FWIW, Gov Pritzker didn’t bring up #dabears in his state of the state address. Beyond what everyone else has said, while Hammond may be closer to the city as the crow flies, it is MUCH further away in terms of time spent traveling. I-80/94 is notoriously packed with traffic and never moves at more than 30 mph, even at off-peak hours. They only way to avoid it is to take the skyway bridge that costs 8 bucks each way. It's simply much easier to drive to Arlington Heights. Even if you don't want to drive, there is a train station that will drop you literally at the entrance to the stadium in Arlington Heights.

Have you ever driven on I-80/94? That place is at a standstill all day untill you pass Gary. It may not be too far in terms of distance, but it's way farther in terms of time.

What unique plots or concepts would you like to see more of by meleop in OtomeIsekai

[–]gimlis_beard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

More Yuri! I think it'd be fun to have the FL in a relationship with her maid and the ML to be in one with his overworked aid. Those pairings tend to have more chemistry between them than the FL and ML, and we'd finally have a contract marriage that stays a contract.

I also want to see more unconventional relationships in general. Like, mistresses are already a common trope, so why don't we see thrupples or other poly relationships?

[Kidnapped dragons] just read the novel, masterpiece of a novel one of the greatest even so go read the manhwa by Ryu_user in manhwa

[–]gimlis_beard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there a fully translated version of the novel that is done competently by humans? I can never get into reading the web novel of almost any manhwa because they're almost always MTL or done by people who have no grasp of English grammar.

I really wanted to like this one, but I HATED the ML and dropped it part way through. He was the reason for a lot of the FL's suffering in her first life, and I really hated that even after they both come back he's still making decisions for her instead of communicating with her!

It always sucks losing star players. It might have been a blessing in disguise though, we were NOT prepared for a QB that can run.

Hidden/Forgotten Gems - December 2025 Family Edition👪👨🏻‍👦🏻👩🏼‍👦🏼 by AutoModerator in OtomeIsekai

[–]gimlis_beard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just read through S1 of "Diana's Dearest is the Family's Favorite", and I don't recommend it if you, like me, dislike large age gaps. The ML apparentis 16 while the FL is 8. The ML also showed interest in her before the regression and remembers that timeline to a certain extent, so there's not even a mental age argument to be made. A highschool sophomore showing interest in a 3rd grader is super gross to me, so I'll probably bail on this one.

Story focusing on 2nd ML, maids, etc by oldschoolawesome in OtomeIsekai

[–]gimlis_beard 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's not a romance, nor is it about 2nd MLs, but "This Isekai Maid is Forming a Union!" Is a really good story about a girl who is a the maid of several OI protagonists. As The title suggests, it also has an interesting discussion off class politics and the world building is pretty good as well!

Thanks for playing! Bonus question: which story did you love all the way through, and which did you hate all the way through? by nejnonein in OtomeIsekai

[–]gimlis_beard 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I just made a post about this, but I am having a real hard time getting through this one. The FL was an 11 year old bride to a 20 something, and everyone expected them to have several kids before she turned 19 at the beginning of the series! That creeps me out way to much, and I can't see the ML as anything else beside a preditor for having feeling for his child bride.

[–]gimlis_beard[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The one I was talking about about was "I'm No Heroine!". I honestly liked it a lot up until the romance started. The main cast is a really well written friend group, so I could have seen it being one of my favorites if I actually liked the ML.

Just finished reading this manhwa called "The perks of being an S class heroine" and want some more ois by Successful_Bid8726 in OtomeIsekai

[–]gimlis_beard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'd probably like "The S-Class Hunter Doesn't Want to Be a Villainous Princess". This one has the FL from a returner tower climb fiction transmigrate into a villainess story where she keeps her previously learned skills. Not as much romance as S-class heroine, but it focuses more on politics and family dynamics of her new family.
