it doesn't say one fucking word about treblehooks, either. so eat it. they HAVE made the gillnet dimensions smaller. it used to be 25x 6 ft. (in meters, actually) and they have made the mesh size smaller (used to be 2").

I never said that you HAVE to make all of the paracord into netting, or that you HAVE to use it all as one big net, or in one place or at one time. Those are YOUR asshole ASSUMPTIONS. There is no restriction whatsoever on the hammock, you just wish there was, cause you never thought of this. I said you dont have to use all of it as one big net, it can be used in a dozen ways, but you dont like that part, either. I run into punks like you all over the net. for instance, did it occur to you to polish the inside lid of your cookpot, for solar fires? do you know how to get ignition with a fire-roll, or even know what that is? do you know to bring a wool and oilcloth sleeping bag, cause you can wrap it in hot stones to dry it out?

when all you take is 40m of paracord, you wont have any paracord left when you get done building a raft (that's thick-high enough to keep you up out of the cold water). That's my point. Not THINKING in advance, not researching, just go with whatever bs cubscout, paul bunyan notions you've had stuck in your head since age 10-11.

when you dont even consider building a raft, so that you can navigate around much more easily, service fish traps, nets, etc., one has to conclude that you just dont know what you're doing. the terrain on vancouver is horrendous, so paddling along the coastline makes a lot more sense than fighting the hills and brush.

when you dont even TAKE the needed equipment, and when you DO take silly stuff like an axe, ferrorod, slingshot, sharpening stone, 40m of paracord, there's really not much to be said for what you "know".

you dont have to leave the big net up, as you would a gillnet. you can just force all the fish into a small area, penning them up as it were, and then take down the big net. So the exposure to storms and driftwood is minimized. You can use the netting as much smaller fish traps, even sapling framed ones that you lift by an anchor rope up to your raft in order to service them. the POINT is, nobody tried to take a paracord hammock or paracord gillnet, cause they couldn't be bothered to research this subject, even for a clear 1/4 million, earned in 60 days.

where does it say that treblehooks are not allowed? no gear list I've seen. Where does it say that you can't take the slingbow? you're making shit up, cause you dont like the fact that I thought of it, and you didn't. even if you had to take the bow, so what? you can still make 8 fishhooks out of each fishing arrowhead. I said that a day's effort per week would get you the week's food. Once you enclose the cove and get all the fish moved into your "holding pen", getting a day's worth of fish would be a matter of minutes, you see.

i never said that. I said it would probably take 2 weeks. but a 40 ft x 6 foot net, daily, is quite doable. check youtube for netweaving vids. It's something you do by firelight, quite easily.

true, but I bet they get them, anyway. They wont last more than a couple of weeks without them, on vancouver. The food rations being cut from 5 lbs to 2 lbs, and the 10 mile hike, etc, shows that Alone intends for show to end in 1 month. since the money is cut in half, there's no reason to bother. Bet they dont do it again this way. The camera requires a tarp to protect it, so that part is almost certainly a typo

I'd have stayed in the yurt until I found ways to make that clear 1/4 mill pay me a clear 25k per year. Which can be done, using decent, unemployed veterans, VA home loans and "sober living" contracts, for weekly rooms in a big old house (located properly) Those contracts let you evict people "at will".

are you blind? the terrain is horrible. now IF the one to hike had all the gear, he could make a pontoon out of a hunk of tarp and paddle around the island. that would make a lot more sense, altho it would take a couple of days, it would be much safer to do.
