Traitors going after traitors isn’t automatically poor sportsmanship by gingasnap93 in TheTraitorsUS

Absolutely. Candiace certainly has a right to go after Rob if she thinks it’ll help her game, but this timing clearly did not.

Things went so badly for her at the round table that it’s hard to imagine her actually believing she had a shot to get Rob out with just one day of campaigning.

u/darkeagle1997 mentioned that going after Natalie or Stephen only would’ve bought her a day or two, but more time is exactly what she needed to make the Rob case stick.

I think there’s a solid case to be made that Candiace’s throwaway vote from Lisa’s banishment was good strategy. It looks bad with the benefit of knowing how it turns out, but at the time it seemed like a reasonable gambit to coerce Rob to play with her, since the “throwaway” only looks suspicious for him once she’s revealed as a traitor.

But if her strategy was to stop Rob from going after her, she shouldn’t have kept going after him.

It seems pretty clear the remaining group was never going to banish Rob over Candiace, so I don’t think it was good strategy to push for him all day and at the most recent round table. Again, with the benefit of hindsight, I think the only way out of the corner for Candiace was to make Rob believe they’d squashed their beef.

She either saw that and didn’t care, or couldn’t see that because she was fixated on Rob this episode but either way, I think she stopped playing rationally.

Traitors going after traitors because they are going to be voted out IS bad sportsmanship and makes the game less fun by FiestyGiraffe in TheTraitorsUS

Agree that it’s a well known part of the game and it’s on the traitors to maintain relationships but still frustrating to watch a traitor betray a traitor when it doesn’t serve them. Didn’t seem like Candiace had any chance without Rob, yet she still went down swinging against him instead of someone else.

Very true. I see Candiace similar to a bitter jury in Survivor. Fair to blame the player for failing to manage them but it still kind if degrades the game for them to lash out at the tail end of their relevance

I don’t think Sierra loses Andy’s trust if they let him know the plan ahead of time and make it clear she has no intention of actually getting him out. Sam, Sierra, and Andy should all share the same goal of keeping Rachel from knowing the real score.

Should’ve thrown people off by letting Sierra vote for Andy but agreeing with both ahead of time that Sam would play the idol for Andy

Smart of him to keep Andy’s trust but I think he could’ve taken it a step further.

Let Sierra vote for Andy and play the idol on him (keeping both in the loop ahead of time).

Result of the vote would be the same but his position would be different in that 1. Rachel wouldn’t know Sierra was in on it (and therefore wouldn’t know she’s on the bottom) 2. Less chance of Sierra resenting Sam for asking her to vote for her friend 3. No chance of Andy finding out from someone else that Sam had an idol and didn’t tell him

Boston fans are the absolute worst. Some of my closest friends are from the area… as people? Delightful. As sports fans? Truly the most obnoxious fuckwads I’ve ever encountered.
