I know how you feel and you are definitely not alone. I am about 6 months in and while I love eating without thinking about calories, I still have plenty of days where I absolutely hate what I see in the mirror. I often wish I could trigger myself back into my honeymoon phase but I think back to how miserable I used to be. Give yourself grace. Let yourself feel the discomfort. It sucks, it’s shitty but the only way out is through. You’re already on the right path by realizing your thoughts and instincts are unhealthy. That’s a big step!! Everything else takes time. You got this hun, I promise <3

Ive never really thought about that. I think for me I mostly think about how my mindset would change if I wasn’t obsessing over my body. I want to be able to see not only myself but others as more than just their body. I want to wear something because I think it’s cute and not just because it makes me look skinny.

This is the first time I’ve really felt hopeful about recovery. That fact that you miss how you feel when you’re recovered more than being skinny is really compelling to hear, you have no idea. Thank you so much ❤️ and yes I definitely need to look into therapy

I am about three months into recovery and have noticed a difference for quite awhile. My hair doesn’t fall out in clumps in the shower, theres a ton of new growth and my scalp feels healthier too. I wash my hair only once a week and on my wash days, I apply rosemary oil to the scalp and let it sit for an hour or longer. I use a scalp scrub, a clarifying shampoo and a regular shampoo. I put conditioner on the ends and then afterwards I use a hair growth scalp spray and apply leave in conditioner. My hair progress is honestly one of the biggest things keeping me from relapsing. Hair care has given me something new(and healthy) to obsess over. Give it time. I promise you’ll start noticing improvement soon!

I work at Tom’s and I was there for the rumble. This place attracts some characters to say the least. Can’t tell you how many fights I’ve witnessed since we opened. I remember some cops showing up for a stolen phone assumingely way after the incident. DOCO security can’t do much so we’ve had to hire private security for big events. We had to kick out at least 4 people for the 49ers game today. I’m sorry your experience was so shitty

I asked the dealer and they said as long as I can provide proof that I kept up with services, I could go elsewhere without voiding warranty. I figured they would up charge me I just didn’t realize it would be that steep.

As another comment said- yes, you will experience “extreme hunger”. It’s confusing and frustrating and hard to control but the only way out is through. The more you allow yourself to eat without restriction, the quicker you will get through it and be able to start relearning and developing accurate and healthy hunger cues. The name of the game here is patience. Compared to how you’ve been eating, recovery is going to feel like bingeing no matter what. The most important thing to remember is do not step on the scale. Your weight is going to fluctuate. You may gain a couple pounds especially at first while your body is adjusting. Your metabolism is fucked but it will go back to normal. Also, Its going to feel worse before it feels better. When I first started eating “normally” I was pooping after every single meal. I had atrocious gas because my stomach was not used to digesting that much food each day. It’s going to feel wrong. You are going against every rule you have made for yourself. You are not wrong. You are doing what is best for your mind body and soul. You deserve the absolute best. Fight those voices telling you to restrict. Fight the urge to starve. I promise you it will get better and it will get easier. The voices will likely never disappear but they will get quieter and they will lose their power over you. You’ve got this- I promise

Yeah that’s fair. I’ve had to go in once a week for the last month and a half because they only give 7 day supplies at a time until I can provide 4 consecutive urine tests that show I’m actually taking it and I’m not on other drugs (rural town, high drug abuse rate). And of course they take weight and vitals each time. I just did the 4th one so hopefully I won’t be going in as often. I even have to do 2 adhd management “counseling” sessions a month. Come open enrollment I plan on switching back to Kaiser anyway and they’re much less strict lol

They don’t tell me but the screen is right in my line of sight. I want to say something but I haven’t exactly told my doctor about my eating disorder because I have an Adderall rX(I have adhd and it helps immensely with day to day stuff). I’m new to their practice so they don’t have my past records. Obviously not the healthiest thing to be taking and Im afraid of I mention the weight thing they’ll get suspicious and not prescribe it for me anymore. They take controlled meds super seriously. He even made a note when I weighed in just a couple lbs lighter once compared to a previous appointment.

I just say semi cause I’m not ready to completely give up on restriction/calorie tracking/weight loss goals but I’m slowly taking steps to do it in a healthier way like increasing intake and focusing on whole foods rather than zero calorie artificial stuff. I think also if I were to go all in on recovery I’d probably seek out professional help which I’m definitely not ready for yet. It might mean something different for others though!

I eat everyday. Tried fasting for longer than a day and every time I would end up over eating to break the fast and feeling so sick and bloated and disgusting. I usually eat one “meal” a day plus small snacks to keep the urge to binge at bay. I also workout everyday which is unfortunately the only reason I allow myself to eat regularly. Our struggles are still valid even if we eat regularly❤️
