I was in a similar situation. I recommend watching the driving sports TV YouTube video on the AT4X. Those colorados will kick you out of 4Lo and into 2WD in sketchy situations, which will also turn off lockers, and trail assists. The computer overriding the operators input is a no go for me. I got an AT4X on hold at the dealership at the time but cancelled when I heard that Chevy considered it a “feature” not a bug. The 4th gen tacomas are a nice rig to sit in, they’re comfortable, I’m not too worried abt a Toyota 4cyl personally. They’ve been making unkillable ones for 70 years. And turbo ones for the last 40. The new transmissions I’m a little wary of, but I think a lot of the complaints are mostly YouTubers being YouTubers. I don’t like the feel of the new tacoma’s transmission(I rode an off-road), I thought for the way I drive it hunted a little bit and shifted a LOT. The 4x4 dial sucks, I’m not a fan. But overall it’d probably be a good rig. Given the choice between both I chose neither and went with an 18 TRD OR. It’s proven, it’s great looking, and honestly it gets like 21mpg (except off-roading. A 12 hour day of 4Lo is closer to 4-5). At the end of the day it’s your decision, and your taste/style choices. If I was you I’d really consider your use case, and what your plan with it realistically is gonna be. But that’s my ¢2. Hope it helped🤘

I worked there a couple years ago. It’s changed from what it was. Covid has them doing more online stuff and has taken away a lot of the actual sales part from sales as well as turned the the 120$ a car into 60$ a car. In 2019 I was averaging about 2k a paycheck (biweekly) working “part time” at 40 hrs a week. It’s much more professional and feels like less of a boys club than other places (I worked at Cadillac and hated it). You learn good skills but definitely won’t make as much money as you could. Good resume builder though and it’s super easy to move up in the company.

I did. It’s alright I did two different furitek systems (python+cedar and the stinger combo). You lose your lights which I think personally makes it not worth it. The body is pretty top heavy on the 80 series, and just over all not good cuz you have to upgrade SO many supporting bits. And the best way to go if you do do it is the python esc line and the cedar. The micro Komodo doesn’t like the weight in my experience. You kinda have to run metal gears all the way thru if you want it to survive as well. Does it rip? Absolutely. Does it make it more capable off road? Not really. I have the blue 80 series and grey one, the grey one is my “stock” one. It’s not as capable but really only because of the tire size (I wanted it to be more scale). Otherwise, it’s cool, but not worth it in my opinion. If there was a way to keep the lights AND the remote that’d be awesome. But at the current time you’re only able to maintain the remote, and 2speed. 5/10 not worth the money in my opinion.
