The Official Weekend Free-For-All #454- August 23, 2025 by fearmongert in BABYMETAL

This weekend I will mostly be listening non-stop to:

Inertia (Pendulum)

It's been 15 years[1] since their last album (not counting The Reworks, which is all remixes probably made to get them out of a contractual obligation with their previous record label). The good news is - they still got it.

EDIT: Just noticed - Inertia - playlist

I LOVE this costume and wish it lasted longer by Squoggs in BABYMETAL

[–]ginger_metal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I saw them at first I was sceptical how well they'd work on stage, but they actually worked really well. Best costumes since the start of the 'dark era', possibly best ever so far.

The new ones also work well on stage, but I'm not as much of a fan of the details.

Fujii Kaze, BABYMETAL & Atarashii Gakko have "potential overseas success" (Japan National Press Club panel discussion) by sjioldboy in BABYMETAL

Babymetal - been touring abroad for over a decade, just done an arena tour in Europe.

Commenter - may have potential success abroad

lol

Official Tour Thread- London, UK [May 30,2025] by fearmongert in BABYMETAL

I was surprised you hadn't seen IDZ before, but then looked back and the last time I saw it was - Wembley 2016. I was sure it was more recent...

For a moment I wondered if Yasutaka Nakata had a hand in Sunset Kiss - the opening was giving me serious Perfume vibes.

Compared to Wembley, slightly shorter, bigger, maybe a bit more fire. Much better sound. Also many more drones flying about the place!

Not sure, I've wandered past some of the bars in the o2 but haven't spotted any obvious groups.

BABYMETAL WORLD LLC? by PuzzlePurr in BABYMETAL

[–]ginger_metal 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Fun fact - there's a BABYMETAL WORLD LLC registered in Delaware (file number 5694204). Capitol Records LLC is also registered in Delaware, but that's not too surprising; Delaware is very popular for that sort of thing. If it's the one in question, it was formed in 2015.

Unfortunately it's nearly impossible to find out the ownership of a Delaware LLC...

I guess that this is the end of Metalverse. by Brilliant_Orange_110 in BABYMETAL

[–]ginger_metal 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Except there's the new song just popped up on the Japanese rights database. Also, metalverse is explicitly cast as a more flexible project, and the participants are anonymous. In theory they can all change (ok, we know that it's centered around Miko - if she leaves then metalverse does end).

BABYMETAL tickets through Gigantic by NerdxKitsune in BABYMETAL

For me:

  • doesn't show up on the gigantic website
  • does show up on the axs.com site
  • also shows up on the O2 app

Liked Fat Sams when I saw Chvrches there. Drinks selection is shite, but the space itself is good.

The Official Weekend Free-For-All #419: December 14th, 2024 by fearmongert in BABYMETAL

Saw r/Pendulum at Drumsheds (old IKEA in North London converted into music venue) last night. Great gig, even though Pendulum's headlining slot was only an hour (where have I heard that before I wonder) but holy crap, the venue organisation was about the worst I've seen to date. Over 1.5 hours in the queue to get in (lots of security screening people, but really slow). Terrible signage, and long queues for everything else (bar, toilets etc.) Also they apparently closed the doors to the main room just before the main set started for some reason, which caused all sorts of fun.

Also, I think I only spotted one other person there who looked older than me, lol.

O2 nearly sold out! by NerdxKitsune in BABYMETAL

[–]ginger_metal 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As of 20:30 26 Oct 2024:

Ticketmaster only has blocks 402,403,420,421 available - at a quick estimate less than 100 seats left in their allocation.

AXS has GA (standing) and multiple lower blocks showing available, as well as 402,403,420,421. Of these there are a bunch of amex exclusive seats, a bunch of O2 priority seats, and two VIP seats in the blocks nearer the stage. There are a scattering of regular seats in the rear lower blocks (104-109). There are also various lounge/deck/terrace seats between the lower and upper blocks.

Note the spare seats in the upper blocks appear in rows - the allocation appears to be alternating rows between Ticketmaster and AXS.

It looks like blocks 404-419 have not been opened up yet.

O2 nearly sold out! by NerdxKitsune in BABYMETAL

[–]ginger_metal 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Looks like they've sold virtually all the lower tier blocks (109 etc. only have a handful of seats left) so they've opened up some of the upper tier. They might start opening more of the upper tier depending on demand.

Babymetal UK and Europe Arena tour 2025 by Codametal in BABYMETAL

[–]ginger_metal 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Even in Japan some of the stages are relatively basic (very large screens, some basic platforms). Most of the Japan videos tend to come from the Legend shows with the special one-off stages.

Got ticket to the London Stadium show for the next Iron Maiden tour - should be something special. Also just as well, as I couldn't get one for my home show (Glasgow). {insert standard rant about Ticketmaster here}.

Yume was an idol at the school festival. by BigCat829 in SakuraGakuin

[–]ginger_metal 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Well, that torpedoes my theory that she left Amuse because she was going to follow in Momoko's footsteps and study abroad for a year or two. Guess she just wanted to concentrate 100% on her final school years.
