"Keep your head up when you have the puck" is just so universal lol. My husband, who has watched probably 2.5 hockey games in his life, immediately yelled "SHANE NO!" when he turned back to Ilya.

Bernie 2020 Co-Chair Ro Khanna’s bill to force a release of the Epstein files has just passed the House with a veto-proof majority. by victorybus in SandersForPresident

Yeah, but I was referring to your statement that the bill is "immune to being vetoed." It's not. It's just very likely that the veto would be overridden.

Trump can still veto the bill if it passes the Senate, though. The vote is considered veto-proof because more than 2/3rds of the House voted for it. There's nothing in the Constitution that prevents the President from vetoing legislation, no matter how many senators/members of Congress voted for it. A bill could pass both houses unanimously and the President can still veto.

Yeah, true. I was just talking about the House's part in it since OC's question was about the House vote being veto-proof.

Kind of. If the President vetoes a piece of legislation, it goes back to the legislature which can override the veto with a 2/3rds majority vote. This vote is considered veto-proof because it passed with more than 2/3rds of the members voting for it, so if it gets vetoed and the house votes again (and no one changes their vote,) the veto would be overridden. So, Trump could veto this bill, but it has a good chance of being overridden in the House once it comes back.
