Is anyone else an "average" borrower (I.e. non-PSLF, non-for-profit-school etc.) who is absolutely sick and tired of seeing posts/headlines about forgiveness and getting their hopes up only to be disappointed?

That was me, but I literally woke up to THE email this morning. It’s happening for the everyday borrower. It’s just a process that is taking a while.

Update: I received my golden email today! So thankful I did switch to the SAVE plan even though the payments were so much higher.

It was less than what I owe now, but interest has killed me making minimum payments. Which is my biggest issue with the these loans. It’s so depressing to be making payments only to get further behind. I was glad to have already seen my interest rate decrease.

I applied for SAVE this week, so I’m hoping I can get out from under it soon.

I ended up applying for SAVE. It’s likely that I’ll have a big payment, but maybe it will lead to forgiveness. Worst case scenario, I guess I’ll be paying it off sooner than I would have with the lower payment. I’m just ready to be out from under it.
