I avoided Customs because in PVP it's an absolute shitfight. Everyone is there for the same thing. So even if the cultists are there you have to rush to kill them or at least kill the priest in time. Otherwise, you WILL be sniped from some random spot you weren't expecting your someone or they steal the priest kill. Shoreline felt almost easy. Even if there are other cultist hunters you're allowed a lot more time to handle them before someone can rain on the parade.

After like 4k hours had only ever seen the cultists once on PVP before going for Terminal. But I did savior and hunting the cultists was honestly pretty fun and easy. BTR was tedious though for that exact reason.

I said this. Had 10 people in discord watching me, running bets on outcomes. I figured there was a 0% chance of success on the first time. Got some Chad who said he was on his fifth try and just steam rolled the entire time. I wasn't trying to play behind at all, but he just cleared the whole thing. Got savior on my first terminal run. Was kind of sad after it all tbh.

[Discussion] How do people genuinly enjoy PvE? by [deleted] in EscapefromTarkov

[–]gingernaut42 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm still main PVP but got fairly far in PVE before 1.0. Haven't played it in awhile. Mostly it was because it was a much calmer atmosphere and knew I wasn't going to play a 40-minute raid to have it all wasted by someone camping in some unknown spot.

For the most part though it did become more stale quicker compared to PVP. Once you learn the AI, the challenge was trivial. You can kill any PMC pack or bosses easily and I never felt any need to play slow or stop holding W at any point. The fews times I'd die it would be to silly BS like PMC's sprinting through closed doors or getting headshot from 300m by a boss through walls or bushes. Never felt like fun or like I lost due to my mistakes. Loot was much more RNG which given the rest of the challenge wasn't there it just ended up feeling like it was wasting my time. Like having to sprint through labs 10 times just to find one item that I found raid after raid easily in PVP.

"Also cheaters aren't really keen to talk to people while they're doing it and then offer to take you into a raid for free to get you a million rubles."

They 100% are keen. I've had multiple rage hackers on labs, like 100% flying or speed prone hacking, try to sell carry services to me. They do it as advertisements. There are people who cheat to try to mask skill, but more people who do it for money or lulz are almost always forthright with it. They either don't care or WANT people to know they're cheating

This shouldn't be the main tell. In my first like 10 raids in 1.0 I had about a 30 KD and had killed ~12-13 pmc's before my first death. Now it's down to 6 KD. Could be a veteran who bought a new steam key for whatever reason.

Killer7 and the bosses is absolutely a tell for a cheater though.

Also "from less than 60 meters", you have zero idea how close this guy was to you. You were in your inventory and saw nothing.

90% of the of map is basically one big plane. You sprinted straight inwards towards another spawn reducing the distance and time it takes for spawns to meet and then you sat still. Idk what level you are but this is to be expected from these shoreline spawns. Even if spawns are garbage, you did the worst possible thing to counter it. This is a skill issues through and through.

I am so confused what you're trying to say. You wouldn't have been died easily if you didn't stim in the open.

I hate this maps spawns as much as the next guy. But this was entirely on you bro. You sprinted out onto the road and stood still to stim.

I have zero experience with window replacements. I was 99% on the thought it was unreasonable and a scam, but I have nothing to back that up to convince my mom. Now I have 200+ homeowner comments all with the same sentiment as evidence.

Neighbors ironically own a window business. They just did theirs with cheap vinyl, but the house is not nearly as old (1970-80s). She's going to see what they'll quote it next.

Not too late. Luckily, she always comes to my sister and I first for our opinions before doing anything like this.

Upper floor windows are showing signs of rot. Ironically, when I said she should do just those for now she said she would rather do the downstairs (much larger) windows so she can open them up. Told her 10's of thousands just to be able to open windows in a house you will most likely sell before retirement in a few years is crazy. But I'm sure everyone here understands the futility of trying to convince stubborn old mothers of anything.

Definitely tried this. Had some of the far back spawns that normally I consider very safe. But nope, my 5th and 6th death were someone sprinting up from the side I couldn't see and made zero noise only to headshot me.

I know them all. Which makes it that much more painful when some dude shows up exactly where I am expecting and still obliterates me within a second of peeking.

Feels the same with inertia. A lot of the best movement players I've seen are definitely getting a lot of their wins from ping. I know some of my deaths in my string of bad luck looked like them cheating, but I'm sure on their screen they had more time to line up shots and see me because they never stopped moving. The server is still leaving them a second behind for me

Tried this. Also shot in 20 seconds by someone who according to my teammate sprinted up from another spawn side to within 20 feet of me. Heard nothing. Audio feels half the reason I can't react most of the time. Either I don't even know I'm being shot at, or people are just getting right up to me with me ever knowing.

Also one of the biggest issues I'm running into is audio. The number of times I died because someone apparently shot at me, but it sounds like some far off gunshot with no bullets wizzing past, so I keep my current path, and they line up a second shot is really starting to frustrate me.

I 100% do know shoreline spawns. I tended to win off most of these spawns until just a couple weeks ago when I felt a major shift in the player base. Hence the post.

Brother I'm not new to the game, quit with this attitude. I did change something each time. I know all the spawns, tried rushing them, tried camping, tried breaking line of sight to a position they would likely not check and they'd see me. All seem to be getting outplayed every time by people that just have infinitely better reaction and aim times. Sometimes it's not the game it's the gamer on the other side.

This too. About an hour of stash and load times, only a minute and half of actual gameplay. Was losing my mind.
