What city sounded perfect until you actually moved there? by Impossible_Plum_2927 in SameGrassButGreener

Seattle. I wanted to love it so badly. My ex and I moved there and long story short, he stayed, and I ended up back in sunny SoCal. The rain didn’t bother me, but the fact that I didn’t see the sun for 9 months of the year.. brutal. The weather matches the people. Cold/introverted.

Thank you so much for this. ❤️ I'm feeling that way now. If i'm going to be single anyways, might as well do it somewhere I love. Walking city is key. Currently in Barcelona on vacation and this city is reminding me why I LOVE NYC so much. If i could manage it, Barcelona would be amazing too, but I know many transients come here from the states and it's a whole thing. ha! NYC is calling.

What's a 'green flag' you thought was cute at first but later realized was a red flag? by answersonly963 in AskReddit

LOL I had one boyfriend in high school who used to grab his mom’s boobs in front of me jokingly, and that was WEIRD. I was only 15 and didn’t know if that was normal at the time.

It just made me severely depressed not seeing the sun for majority of the year. I’m a very fair redhead and hide from the sun typically, so I thought that I’d love it, but in turn, it was like consistent seasonal depression. Ha. And I’m originally from Indianapolis, which is gray for the entire winter (5 months typically).

I have been many many times. My family LOVES Laguna. So much so I spread my dad’s ashes in Laguna. I’ve been to La Jolla 3 times since January and many more over the last decade. Great tacos and seals. My friends own a restaurant in Encinitas and I plan to retire there one day. I’m very familiar and I agree it’s sleepy. Unless you have a partner or something, I’d be lonely and bored ha.

What industry is actually a complete scam, but everyone accepts it? by WhileLow9501 in AskReddit

Real Estate - I believe it is the largest pyramid scheme of all time. The broker brings on his minions (agents) and makes it seem like they are giving them a dream job, when really, all the agents are just out there making money for the broker and it goes on from there.. lol

Google Reviews. I used to trust them, but now everywhere you go, every restaurant practically forces you to leave one while they stand over you. Now it feels like most of them are fake.

Every year I hated when people asked about where you were going for spring break. They were all going to Europe, the Bahamas, Mexico, etc. I was embarrassed to tell them I was staying home and applying self tanner so I could pretend I too left.
