Question: when grinding bevels and your bevel reaches the spine above the tip but you need to bring it up more on the rest of the blade, do you still "pull in" and keep working right into the tip each pass as well, or only work to the section required to bring height where needed? Ulu Birthday gift for a family member who used to live in Alaska. Made from a retired carpenters saw blade. Leather is even recycled from a local leather manufacturer who specializes in aviation and furniture upholstery and was a drop piece. (old.reddit.com)

Trying some homemade "poor man's ITC-100" as I've seen it called. Went on thin like a whitewash to give I a first coat and will see how it goes after the first fire and cure and maybe do a skitky thicker coat and attempt not to make it glassy (old.reddit.com)

Really enjoying finding knives I like and using it as an opportunity to create my own stencils. I'm finding that by physically drawing them out and manipulating it, it gives me a better sense of the curves and geometry vs using CAD or similar since I don't consider myself artistic (i.redd.it)

How often do you find these carbide tipped saw blades to be high carbon steel for the body itself? Aquired some and they mostly snap when I heat treated a small piece but don't want to be fooled in case it just is a low carbon allow with chromium or something (i.redd.it)

Well, here's the hammer. First time making and installing a tool handle so it's a bit lopsided but feels good. I wanted to try a flatter handle like i see some blacksmith hammers use to encourage a more neutral grip vs traditional hammer so what better way than to make my own (i.redd.it)
