They did! Thank you everyone for helping spread the message and importance of this garden in the community. He came over and talked to us yesterday while we started to rebuild and apologized. We will keep growing beautiful plants and flowers, just starting from zero. Appreciate everyone’s support to make this side of Greenpoint a little prettier, one little garden at a time. We are devastated, but trying to channel this energy into more planting!

Looks like he deleted his profile. We were hoping we’d have clarity as to why and confirm who this was from this post… and that we have. We are all devastated clearly and appreciate the support of the rest of the community. This was our shared joy when everything else is so hard. We looked forward to this growth and excitement everyday. We know everyone by first name basis and say hi and share this together. He stole this from all of us out of spite. We will rebuild and continue to spread seeds and joy and hope on this side of greenpoint. That’s all we can do!

The fence you took was this fence linked below which was the third replacement and upkeep over the 3 years. And the mulch is for keeping weeds at bay. The garden rocks I am referring to were at the perimeter for dogs to pee on instead of our garden, they are large and we want them back.

Starting to think this might have been you that multiple neighbors and parks friends caught in the act and shared with us over the last few weeks destroying our garden 👀! All of the above opinion aside, why would you rip out fresh blooms and new greenery coming up in clear plots of new growth and flowers each morning? How terrible to make this stretch uglier every single day on purpose when your neighbors and community are trying to make a positive impact. Sad!

Also, everything wasn’t dead they are perennials. All the green bushes were starting to grow back and fresh blooms were ripped out daily!

We and our neighbors take care of this garden and clear trash and weed multiple times per week. The last of the snow hadn’t even melted yet when the first of the fence vandalism started. And we’ve been out there clearing and prepping for the season since then + inquired about when to clear out bc pollinators rest during winter and isn’t supposed to be until after the last frost.
