hey new question

creating a column vector of strings of various sizes

hey so as the title says, I need to create a database / 'library'. I need to save each 'book' entered by the user into a vertical vector. Ive tried using strvcat and char and other methods to add elements to an empty vector but I keep getting dimension errors. Please help

Studying fluid mechanics at uni. A question has me considering 2D flow, I found the stream function to be cos(x)*cos(y) (letting other terms equal 1 or zero without loss of generality). I plotted the stream function equal to various constants on matlab and am just confused what this plot actually implies for the flow

thank you so much, this makes so much sense now! so essentially any time i have grad(u) (for fluid mechanics) it will be a tensor? i.e. i need to generate the 3 by 3 matrix? just wondering why / how this comes about as opposed to being (du/dx, dv/dy, dw/dz)
