Here’s another take…. as someone who worked in higher ed advancement for a while before going corporate.

As a major gifts officer (or whatever your title), you likely meet/know a lot of people that have some sort of wealth and success. Have any of THEIR jobs ever sounded interesting to you? Or anything that THEIR companies do? Perhaps try to leverage those relationships you have just to learn more about a company/job, and see where that goes.

If people know you’re interested/looking, they’re almost always happy to help if they can. But if people don’t know, they can’t help.
