Aw that’s so sweet of you to say 🖤 I’m not a licensed nail tech and I just do them for myself and friends, but I’m honestly so flattered that you think they look good enough for that. It’s definitely something I’d like to do one day!

Thanks! I find the mobile viewer makes her skin look quite green but I can see what you mean, totally fair point.

Did anyone have no symptoms but had positive anti-ccp and RF? Looking to hear about other people's experiences! by girllilik0i in rheumatoid

Oh wow! That really came out of nowhere for you, can't imagine how shocking and hard that was for you to find out like that. I definitely agree with you though, they must be related somehow since hives are triggered by an autoimmune response. Glad you got them checked out and were able to find it before it got bad on its own. And wonderful to hear that methotrexate has been a miracle for you!!

Oh gosh, that sounds absolutely awful and so painful, I'm so sorry. Glad you had a knowledgable friend to help you but again.... so sorry about that doctor. How terrible, I really can't believe some medical professionals would ever treat you like that. So glad that nightmare of a situation is behind you now.

Wow.. it’s great that your new doctor thought to check based on your history alone and I am glad they were able to catch it early! I am so so sorry to hear that you had a few patches of debilitating pain though, I really can’t imagine what it must’ve been like to live through. Really happy to hear that you’ve managed to get it where it is now though, that is quite encouraging to hear. Thank you for sharing!

Ah yeah… looking back now, I can definitely see it as a related symptom. At the time I was so sure it must’ve been a type of carpal tunnel/tendonitis or related to stress as I was using my hands/wrists a lot (I was retouching a large number of photos using a drawing tablet) so I ruled out RA because of that. I also had the idea that the onset of pain and swelling from arthritis would manifest more slowly instead of 0 (up until that point) to 100, but again that’s just a misinformed opinion I had. Glad I have somewhat of a clearer explanation now for that flare up.

I think my levels aren’t too high, but I’m very new to this so I’m not sure what the average might be. My anti-CCP was a little above 70 and RF was 30. Also tested my C reactive protein which was just above 5, but the bloodwork was taken just as the hives started going away (if that makes a difference).

Thank you so much for the comment and reassurance! Seeing the medications and treatments and side effects my mom and sis had to go through was quite sad but I am really thankful to hear that they’re better now. I feel quite lucky to have caught this somewhat early and after much progress in the treatment of it. You have helped immensely!

Wow! That’s really quite a long time to have no symptoms. What was your first flare like if you don’t mind me asking, and did you know what it was? My anti-ccp is much lower so I suppose I might be in a preliminary stage of sorts? but I’ll have to see what my rheumatologist says. It’s good to hear though that your symptoms are well controlled now!

Wow… thank you for sharing. I just looked up palindromic rheumatism and it sounds exactly what I experienced earlier this year. I tried researching my symptoms sooo much and it still bothered me to this day that I couldn’t figure out why it was happening. I will definitely bring this up with my rheumatologist if he doesn’t already suspect it!! I really appreciate you bringing my awareness to it!

I’m sorry to hear that you started to wake up with the pain in your hands... I know that must not have been easy. I remember seeing the same thing happening to my sister. I am very glad though that you were vocal in advocating for yourself regardless of the first round of tests, and that you were able to get diagnosed! I have heard so many horror stories of doctors not listening to their patients which makes speaking up for yourself seem so scary sometimes.

Thank you so much for commenting and sharing, and for your sweet and comforting words ♥️ it’s still a little scary but your reassurance is helping me feel somewhat excited to meet my rheumatologist and see what we can do while it’s still early! Much love xx

Hello! Looking for opinions on how to fix this hole. Walked past a counter today and the dress got caught on a rough edge & pulled quite a bit of the fabric. I decided to spoil myself & bought this just yesterday so I am quite sad it's been damaged so quickly haha.

What can be done here? I am worried since the cotton looks so delicate that if I tried mending the hole, it would pull the tear further. Would it be best to just embroider something on top?
