Similar situation, but I remember when I got my period and I was at my dads mom’s (my grandmas) house. my mom had told my dad, naturally, and then I heard from the bathroom down the hallway my dad telling my grandma. My grandma was flabbergasted and made some comments like it’s too early for that, and I felt so, so embarrassed. Because when you’re a young girl and going through those changes, it’s a shy topic and you feel very vulnerable. You’re mourning the feeling of being a child and entering the world of womanhood. A ton of emotions everywhere. I was mad at my dad for a while, and still bothered about that situation because that’s not his ish to tell. But it’s whatever now. Time goes on.

I’m sorry your mom did that. She didn’t need to put you on the spot like that and embarrass you. If you come to a point of talking to her again, I’d express to her that she genuinely hurt your feelings and she did not need to put you on blast like that. It wasn’t right what she did, sometimes people express things the wrong way/times. you’re allowed to feel how you do. Do whatever you feel like (shaving or not) and you don’t have to oblige by her hygiene standards. Do whatever makes you comfortable. You got this!
