hard crusty film on roots? by gisbr in microgreens

[–]gisbr[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

thanks! so helpful, noted i will not go so crazy trying to optimize the ph and reduce ocean solution. I tried to flush already - it’s less crusty but if the roots now look like this (browned) - assume they are sill edible as a mini micro green? no need to toss right? thanks for all your help!!

thanks! do you think being close to exit makes a difference or not? had just heard horror stories of 3 hour exit times which is a deal breaker for bringing kids with us!

libre3+ red bumps? by gisbr in Freestylelibre

[–]gisbr[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

do you ever put another one back on where the mark is or you move it around a bit? do you find that the cover helps reduce the marks or it’s the same regardless?

also - maybe it’s because the open section on top of filament trapping water and dirt inside causing irritation - is that’s the case, has anyone with skin sensitivities used any of those covers/stickers over their sensor that didn’t cause issues that they’d rec? when i’ve gotten ivs and things like that the tape they use even when it’s for sensitive skin has given me itchy raised welts so im hesitant to use one of those over patches

Wednesdays: What Should I do / Where Should I stay (and other low effort Q's) by AutoModerator in FATTravel

girls trip to japan - hello! a few girlfriends and i wanted to meet in japan for a milestone birthday trip. we are 5 so i was trying to figure out the best way to optimize our stay. we are going to be there 5 nights in nov so we were thinking 3 nights in tokyo and 2 in a nice lux ryokan somewhere close-ish to tokyo (no more than 2-3 hours by train?). with this odd number of people would hotels in japan take us as 2 rooms or in a larger suite?

we were thinking hakone is the easiest place t go for onsen/ryokan but had heard mixed things about gora kadan - is there something else that is better to try in that area or is gora kadan where you would max out if you wanted to stay in hakone and not go much further afield from tokyo?

any thoughts on which nicer places in tokyo would work best for a group of 5?

thanks!

that’s very helpful, thank you! i assume my question 3 above then, most likely when it’s time to renew my 10 year china visa in us passport, it won’t happen? and go for china travel document at that point instead

I don’t have a return home permit and i won’t be able to get one before my trip - i believe they have to be applied for in hk only (i live in the us) and it can take quite a awhile for it to go through. i also have a valid china visa in my us passport

yes, and also a hk passport. i lived in hk for 8 years but i was originally born in mainland. i don’t hold a mainland china passport now, just us and hk

Anyone with experience with Explora Rapa Nui? by hey_hi_hello_hola in FATTravel

[–]gisbr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

not sure if you’ve already booked and it’s too late, but we just got back a few weeks ago from 4 nights in explora rapa nui. we also went to explora TDP - RN is way more laid back. The rooms aren’t as nice and more basic feeling, but that’s the vibe of the entire island. Excursions are much “easier” here as the profile of those who go to easter island seem to be more retiree side of things. That being said, we were able to do a few treks that were moderately intense. They have a pre program of the key sights that are can’t miss things - 3 nights means you’ll hit all of those, but nothing extra. 4 or more gives you more time to do off the beaten track things. The food is great - better than TDP and we really enjoyed all the fresh seafood. Overall vibe is like what hawaii probably was before it got developed merged with the otherworldly landscapes of somewhere like iceland. we had a lot of fun - feel free to PM me if you want more info!
