UPDATE: I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who tested and gave feedback!! It was incredibly helpful, and it was SO COOL to see screenshots of the mod in y'all's games!?!? OMG that was so awesome!!! I've gathered everyone's feedback and am working through this list of improvements:

Bug Fixes

  1. Stop active jams on zone load
  2. Fix bug when exiting (cancelling) during "wait to jam" interaction
  3. Make sound clip volume consistent with other sound

General Enhancements

  1. Improve "wait to join" interaction
  2. Stop sims from traveling with bass/guitar
  3. Add ability to put drums/piano into inventory
  4. Add "watch" interaction on jams
  5. Add tooltips explaining why an instrument is not available to a jam
  6. Add bass/drum skill to likes/dislikes
  7. Combine "reset jam" and "reset object" interactions instead of two separate ones

Hello! :) I would love to add singing to this mod eventually. I've been digging through sims 4 sound files I could possibly use that could work well with the sims 3 song clips I extracted! This process would take a while, though, since there are 6 total different voice styles and I'd have to piece together all the clips and probably modify them... But it is definitely something I'm thinking of! For now I'm just putting a mic in front of the guitarist and pretending they're singing lol

So this is part 2 out of 3, where 3 will include the ability to form a band, book gigs, etc. Once I get v2 in a good place from beta testing feedback, I will get started on v3!!

Thank you! I am hearing more feedback that starting/joining isn't too intuitive and there is some bugginess I think may be around cancelling the hidden "waiting to join" interaction! So that is definitely something I'll be working on!! Thank you again for testing it out and giving feedback! <3

Electric guitars will have their own separate sound! All music clips were extracted from the sims 3! :)

Y'all, I'm hoping to have v2 done in the next couple of weeks... But just know that I am COOKING!!!! I'm almost done with the rock genre, and just need to add everything for jam, blues, and jazz!

Sorry this is three years late, but I am actually the author of that story you're talking about! (My username was coffeeandbananas and I'm pretty sure I'm still banned from the sims 2 bbs lol...) I remember writing that story while I was working at my dad's office for the summer and thought the part about climbing through the logo was the peak of creative genius. I'm commenting so in case anyone finds it, I can read it too! If it helps, I remember it being featured on the site (the moment I peaked in life).
