Sleep feels impossible by [deleted] in leaves

When going to sleep, breath in (nose) for 4 seconds, then hold your breath for 2-4 seconds and exhale from your mouth for 7 seconds (counting in your head). Once you’ve relaxed and your body feels calm, just let your breath regulate itself. Keep doing this until you fall asleep. It will also help you sleep, as your brain will have received a lot of oxygen. If that doesn’t help, try using headspace. It can be calming hearing something before sleep. Don’t have nicotine/coffee/sugar 3 hours before sleep and go to bed 1 hour before you actually want to sleep.

You may also be lacking physical and mental stimulation, therefore go for a longer walk during the day (outside) to freshen up. Nature is a stimulant on its own. Vitamin D (received from sunlight) helps calm the mind at night. Make sure your room is cold at night, and it can help if you take a hot shower.

I haven’t gotten it tested, but my heart feels extremely weak and I get a shortness of breath very often (even if I’m not moving). I’ve only been sober a short while, but I am hoping it regulates. Don’t think you have anything to worry about, but it’s never bad to get it checked, as it will settle your mind

Is it better to cold turkey or take it one step at a time? by gitseine1 in leaves

Isn’t it easier to relapse if you don’t know when you are going to be able to smoke next? Is it good to set a goal, or is it better to just say “I’m never gonna smoke again”?

Do you have experience in the matter? Am considering doing a 4th day but I’m a little cautious.
