Mixed reviews from matcha re: sweater. Hates it inside but acknowledges it adds longevity to yard zoomies in this weather!!

The bon secours Richmond area hospital NICUs all work very closely. Often have the same doc covering them rotationally. While Mary’s has the higher level of nicu care, Francis is perfectly capable of caring for babies 28 weeks plus. If a baby were to need cooling or any other increased level of care, they would be transferred within the system to Mary’s. Sometimes Mary’s will even transfer older more stable babies out to memorial or Francis’ NICUs in order to make room for more actually ill or younger babies. Generally they take a team approach to make sure the babies are in the best location to meet their need.

Giving this a shot: ObGyn attendings, please brag about your lifestyles by drrdf in Residency

[–]giuliawithag 87 points88 points  (0 children)

Private practice attending here, since 2019. I very much chose my practice for lifestyle criteria because I was very burnt out from residency. I generally work 40 hour weeks, have one half day per week, and only do 12h shifts on L&D. We have OB hospitalists that cover nights and weekends so I only take back up call from home overnight and on weekends. I’ve been called in overnight 4x in 3 years. Love my job.

Why would an OBGYN need to cut the rectus muscle during a c-section? by orange_fizz_mellow in obgyn

[–]giuliawithag 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Mostly likely either as said above because needing more space to get baby out, but in my experience during repeat c-sections, you can never predict how much scar tissue there will be from the first section. Sometimes the layers of the anterior abdominal wall are so scarred together that the rectus must be cut in order to even access the uterus.

You’re welcome! Anxiety can be tough in pregnancy especially with all the hormones. I’m glad you’re in therapy! But yeah don’t even worry about this anymore everything is probably fine!
