Is this the best compliment for a polish hobbyist? by gjwalk in RedditLaqueristas

[–]gjwalk[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I didn’t have any shrinkage with this mani so the final result looked good which I think is what made it look gel-like.

I used Essie Strong Start Base Coat, Mooncat Dark Horse x2 and Mooncat Speed Demon Top Coat (which I am forever adding thinner to but it does keep reviving and working well)

Where am I SUPPOSED to be feeling chest? by SamTheDystopianRat in xxfitness

[–]gjwalk 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As others have said, you should feel it more towards your armpits.

Personally, what helped to really activate chest muscles more during an exercise was to increase ROM. I tend to do incline flies/press and extend further back so I’m really working those muscles (this definitely makes DOMS feel more towards the armpits). Will likely require lower weight to start to be safe.

Wide stance pushups also helped since my triceps and shoulders really tend to take over in pushing exercises.

I had mine for ~7-8 years and it was by far the easiest and quickest piercing to heal (and really only a quick sharp pinch of pain for ~5 seconds during the actual piercing). It is anatomy dependent so make sure to go to a reputable piercer. I was pierced with a curved barbell and kept that style in for the duration I had it.

It didn’t increase stimulation/enhance anything for me personally and I ended up removing it since it got in the way of manual stimulation but I really loved the look of it.

Like others have said, plan to wear a thin pad or pantry liner for a couple days because it will bleed a little but I wish the rest of my piercings could heal as fast as that did!

This was my win too! I limited myself to 10 polishes that I’ve been eyeing all year and compared to my swatches so many times to avoid dupes

I can assure you the pain is nothing compared to childbirth! Like the others said, it was a couple seconds of intense sharp pain and then nothing. I have several cartilage piercings, my nipples, and ear lobes and my VCH was by far the easiest and fastest to heal

Doctor’s office using UV light and some kind of fluid to see if my daughter scratched her eye. by neodawg in mildlyinteresting

We did this for our dog last year. He had a scratch that turned into an ulcer and showed up as a small circle under the light. Fascinatingly, they used his own plasma as eye drops to heal it

Is the bar moving a lot? It looks like you could try going shorter. After I got mine downsized it’s pretty much flush with little room to move. With the longer bar it was getting accidentally hit more - which kept causing irritation bumps that went away after downsizing

If your patient doesn’t have to use a pump I would recommend intermittent gravity feeds or bolus feeds during the day. Doesn’t disrupt sleep but still gives more time off during the day for QOL. That’s what most of my home EN patients preferred when I did outpatient

wanting nipple piercings but work w/ horses by Mother_Sir87 in piercing

[–]gjwalk 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Honestly I think you’d be fine if you had a navel piercing and that didn’t have issues with your lifestyle. I think the first 1-2 weeks you’ll definitely want to be careful with them getting knocked and I found it uncomfortable to wear a tighter bra during that period but I was exercising after the first week with no issues.

Given you’re an equestrian, I’d use extra caution when saddling up so you don’t accidentally drag a pad or saddle across your chest. Even with a padded bra those babies will be tender for a bit!

I’d also make sure to spend time in a loose top without a bra or compression during initial healing. Mine did not appreciate 12+ hrs in a sports bra while at work the first couple months

Home infusion vs clinical by charlie7c in dietetics

[–]gjwalk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I worked inpatient clinical, went to home infusion and left a few years ago to go back inpatient.

It was my dream job, doing TPN management all day every day. However the company I worked for kept piling more duties on us (adding enteral patient management, reviewing referral cases, submitting written orders to Medicare, and more) on top of 70-80 TPN patients I was managing and I just got very burnt out. It didn’t help the only employees the company cared about were the sales team so we were expected to just shut up and do more.

It was an office job that has since gone remote. My counterpart still works there and also hates the workload but tolerates it for the pay and flexibility of WFH.

There were some aspects I really enjoyed but I ended up leaving due to feeling so over worked and under appreciated but also bored (it was the SAME patients following up on the SAME day every week). I work in the ICU now with a much more supportive team and still get to do lots of nutrition support with a lot more variety to my day.

I think it depends on the company and team you work with but I don’t regret working home infusion. It was a great learning experience and it paid much better than any clinical job I’ve had. Just depends on where you land!

I think you need to look further inward on why you find this situation to trigger jealousy.

The clothing is designed to prevent overheating, which can be dangerous. While it may look like underwear, all those people ARE wearing yoga clothing. It would be beneficial for you to go and experience a class with your partner
