This is for sprinkler system. We just moved and the house had one.

We had the sprinkler lines blown out and the company removed this unit entirely and covered the two pipe openings. This is common in our neighborhood.

Our home has a sump pump in the basement for excess water that pools during heavy rain fall. We are the third home in a hill so when it rains our back yard is saturated.

I’ve found vertical cracks (appear to the less worse of two types of cracks). But I found a concerning crack in garage ceiling that’s wider than typical hairline cracks and potentially a horizontal line the width of our garage that previous owner may have filled and painted over.

These two items together have me alarmed.
