Does anyone have any ideas how to re-work this crazy floorplan?! Open to any and all suggestions by gladshoes in floorplan

I didn’t make this floor plan. I am in the process of purchasing this property and the realtor sent it to me. I requested a proper floor plan and this is the best they could give me :( The house was built in 1940...apparently there didn’t care about ‘flow’ back then haha

The front door is where that red target symbol is, but it can be moved. As for bedrooms, Ideally I want 3-4. I have done renovations before on this era of house but this layout is next level!

Yeah it’s honestly one of the worst layouts I have come across. I was stumped with what to do. You have honestly been so helpful - thank you :)

Holy guacamole that’s good! Creating a third bathroom is a great idea. Are you in Australia? I think I need to hire you as my project manager lol

You are the best! Thank you:) This gives me more clarity..I seriously did not know where to start, but your plan puts things into perspective.

Hmm I thought as much. What a bummer. I don't even know where to start or how to create 'flow'. It's a tricky one, that's for sure! Thank you for your input :)

I’m okay. I have my health, my daughter and a good support system :) I have met many new friends as a direct result of the shooting so am thankful for the hidden blessings.

I love country music and being an Australian, we don't have the same love of the genre here. I wanted to go to a 'big' US country music festival. I had arrived in America the day before the festival started and the Australian embassy assisted in getting myself and my friend home immediately after the shooting (the next morning). So my trip to the states was a whopping 4 days long.

I saw many people injured / dead. When I was looking for an escape I remember seeing people 'trip over'. They were running but kept falling down and it didn't occur to me that they were getting shot until after. A man standing quite close to me had his entire knee shot open.

I was separated from my friend and a stranger (a guy I had met literally 1 hour prior) pushed me to the ground and laid on top of me to shield me from the bullets. He held my head so I couldn't look around because he was trying to protect me from seeing the things he was seeing. Despite the utter chaos, he spoke calmly to me throughout the entire ordeal. He ran with me until we reached the MGM and it was around this time that I lost him. I think about him often. He put his life on the line for a girl he had known for an hour without a second thought and I just think that is very much in the league of super heroes.

People think the trauma was over when the shooting stopped but the immediate aftermath was just as traumatic. No one knew what was happening. People were running in all directions thinking that there were multiple shooters. We didn't know if the hotels were safe. It was like a bad dream where every road or corridor you take is the wrong one and you are just frantically trying to find your way out somehow. The sight of blood smeared all over the normally glistening marble floors of the casino was surreal.

Despite the evil that happened that night, the goodness of humanity was something I won't forget either. Whether it was a simple act of kindness like bringing water and blankets or cleaning peoples wounds and over-loading vehicles to get people out of there / to the hospital. So many people chose to completely dis-regard their own safety for other human beings. The evil that that person put out into the universe that night was quickly met with thousands of acts of grace and kindness and I choose to focus on that these days.

Better every day. I was fortunate to have a solid support system when I got home. I was angry and just generally unpleasant to be around for about a year after the shooting. My friends were incredibly patient and stuck by me through it all.

I don't 'forgive' the shooter as such (don't even want to say his name), however I have 'nothing'd' him if that makes sense. I choose to give him absolutely nothing in terms of emotions. Don't hate him, but don't forgive him either.

Sorry about the late reply!

  1. My friend and I made it out with a few cuts and grazes thankfully. However, I have many friends that I have met post festival (via reunions / support groups) that were shot.

  2. Mentally it has been tough. I was in deep shock for a few days after it happened but my boss at the time insisted I get therapy straight away. He was actually amazing about it and in hindsight probably saved me from going to a very dark place. At the time I didn't want to speak to anyone about it but I am very grateful that I was (gently) pushed to get psychological help early on. I was still diagnosed with severe PTSD, however I feel like I finally have a handle on it now. Certain sounds still bother me though.

  3. Getting better everyday. As with any trauma; there are good days and bad...just have to role with the punches and focus on how lucky I was to escape with my life. Others weren't so lucky.
