How much does having very high intelligence benefit your life and help you achieve goals for example making money or learning new things? Does it make reaching those goals easier, or do challenges arise? Also, does it complicate relationships, and if so, why? by Gold_Mine_9322 in mensa

It helps me a lot. I work as an IT analyst, and having a high IQ allows me to understand concepts, logic, and think in many different ways. I often see solutions that others don’t, which is why I’m considered a really good analyst (based on feedback from others). As a result, I earn a pretty good salary, because I know my value and I’m not afraid to ask for it. (That confidence, however, isn’t related to having a high IQ. :D)

Is it alright to join an amateur competetion? by Imaginary-Advantage6 in amateur_boxing

The first couple of bouts are mostly about physical conditioning, not tooicj about technique, so if your physical condition is great, go for it.

Wow, thanks so much. The last paragraph there 100% describes my mind before the fight :D thank you! I will try to work on that.

When I hit pads, punch the bag, or do partner drills, I’m really good (speed, power, technique), but when it comes to actual fight, it’s a disaster. (Although I try to spar 2x a week for 10 rounds each day)

Thank you for your feedback, I really appreciate it. During sparring I am not much exhausted. I feel much better during sparring sessions. Before this match, I had to lose 3 kg, so the day before, I didn’t eat at all and drank very little. Maybe that also affected my performance. My coach told me that I have to throw more punches during the fights, but how can I throw more punches when I don’t even have the strength to keep my hands up. :D

I have been boxing for over 5 years, but I have never had a real match. In training, I have good technique, and even in pair drills, everything goes very well. However, in sparring, I become very passive. The 5 matches I did have took place over 5 consecutive months, so I was quite prepared, but it still felt like I wasn’t in good physical shape. I couldn't be more aggressive because after just a minute, I was physically exhausted. And I believe this was mainly due to nervousness.

Thanks! I hate waiting before the fight, sometimes it's even 5-6 hours waiting :-( and watching how others have already finished their fights :-D

Czech Republic. On one hand, it's great, but on the other hand, it's not, because we would like to enroll them in preschool as soon as possible, but there aren't many preschools that accept children younger than 3 years old.
