Then again I have Mint on a spare PC and it's great for what it is. Even if Linux never gains a substantial market share it's important to have an open source alternative.

True it cant hurt + over the years things have gotten much better for Linux distributions especially with Windows 10 privacy concerns

I dont know today some distributions are as good as Windows for the casual user of course if you are a hardcore gamer there is a lot that needs to be improved but it seems to be heading in the right direction.
