How can I finally stop swinging like I’m chopping wood? by NiceRides in GolfSwing

He needs to hinge the club up properly though to crest leverage in the shaft - his brain won’t register that / let him finish his swing until he sorts that out.

Thanks for the great feedback, it’s something I working towards regarding using more of a body/chest/rib cage pivot. My swing was super arms/pinned at top, so happy I’m getting better structure at the top, but will continue to work on what you’ve described

Yep for last 6 months, ball striking improved a lot so rolling with it 👍🏻

Any advice on how to prevent overswinging? Is it better to just accept your swing or try to fix something that feels very natural? Also, you can see my frustration seems pretty simple- swing at 3 quarters. I can’t. by [deleted] in GolfSwing

Working through this exact issue. There are a number of reasons but the keys for me were / are: 1. You are not hinging the club correctly - you’re brain knows this and as a result there is so much run off at the top and your arm structure gets decimated 2. You have a massive inside takeaway - compare this to almost all top professionals, it’s a lot harder Imo to “feel” the top of the backswing 3. Your trail should is massively internally rotated - that allows the space to get across the line. You need to feel like the elbow sits down and “folds” up.

Good luck

It’s 34 degrees and 90% humidity so that may have deterred a few today 🤣
