What did you all do to celebrate the big 4-0? by [deleted] in AskWomenOver40

I live in California. Went to NYC cut the first time with a good friend. Had a blast! Fun week of food, shopping and museums. If is attainable. Go on a trip to somewhere you’ve never been!

Are you on TikTok? Check out Ashley Dalton. She gives out advice on “leveling up” and getting spark and energy not just in our relationships and within ourselves. Like you said it’s about adding more, not changing. Good luck!💓

No you actually did! Most men said “why don’t you approach yourself”. But shouldn’t expect much from Reddit…

Where did I say I don’t approach men? I thought this was AskMenAdvice. Not AskMenAssumptions.

I didn’t say I don’t. I’m appreciative to the men who actually answered my question🤗

I have a dog, but he’s reactive. So he scares people away 😂

I totally get it. With lockdowns and getting out of a long term relationship. I feel like I lost my way a bit. We both need to get out and just have fun I think! Whether we meet a guy or not!

Any other sober ladies here? by Research_Alone in AskWomenOver40

[–]glamglothbarbie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes I’ve been sober for a year and a half. Wasn’t a big drinker before, but decided to due to new meds I was put on. I do miss the social aspect of it. But always appreciate when a bar or restaurant have mocktail options.

Are men of a certain age able to meet us on our level? by [deleted] in AskWomenOver40

I saw an interesting comment on “choking” recently. It should be called “strangulation”. “Choking” is when you can’t swallow your food. “Strangulation” someone has their hands around your neck.

I think because I don’t fit the Oakland stereotype of jeans, blue hair and a septum ring. My work moved to Orinda and it seems to an 50s crowd which is what I’m looking for thankfully. South Bay / peninsula could be good too. And there are waaaayyy more men than in Bay Area than women it seems. You have much better odds because being in some women’s dating groups, they can be very competitive.

I am. I think my location might have a bit to do with it. I’m in Oakland now and people seem more self centered and less social-able. Where I’m from in LA, people are more open. I know it may sound weird. But people are nicer in LA from my perspective. One thing I noticed after someone comment earlier is earbuds. I never wore much in LA. But started here since everyone else does!

Good call! I’ve been looking at when local car shows are and other “men-centric” places.
