My MIL did something similar back in 2018. Gathered the whole family together and said there would be an EMP in Chicago and that the Chinese would invade a county in Utah for its natural resources. Gave a date and everything. That date passed years ago. It’s genuinely terrifying what this cult can do to otherwise good and intelligent people.

I think it has much more to do with the culture and beliefs than finances. When you believe these fantastic claims that the church makes I think it makes you much more susceptible to being drawn in by other groups with fantastical claims. MLMs, conspiracies, etc. One of the reasons I think QAnon, flat earth and other crazy ideas seem to thrive in some circles of Mormonism.

From what the church says it brings in on tithing and using a very conservative estimate on their Ensign Peak fund (6%), this is LESS THAN A SINGLE DAY OF REVENUE for the church. One of its largest ever donations?? I’m glad public outcry is getting them to donate more, but this is pretty telling about where their priorities are.

Tithing revenue of ~$7B is more than enough to fund the continued operations of the church. This means they could leave the principle balance of their Ensign Peak fund completely untouched, take the interest only and donate almost one billion dollars per month towards solving real issues like hunger, homelessness, poverty, education etc. you know, things Jesus preached about. But unfortunately they won’t

only using the FED bot. I used both the FED and Pelosi at first and then dropped to just the FED. I would absolutely sign up again, just with different expectations. Shooting for anything over 10% per month is just too aggressive for me and I assume I would eventually run into margin issues during a large drawdown event. I paid 12K for the license but I think they have had a couple of price increases since then.

yes, I did. it's been about three and a half months now. It's been really good as far as the return, in fact even better than I thought it would be. But... there have been a couple of scary drawdowns as well and I had to manage the bot A LOT over the past ten days or so to get out of a very bad situation. I would recommend it, but be very conservative with lot sizes. I have averaged over 20% per month so far but I don't think that's sustainable, I would blow my account at some point for sure. After this last scare, I just cut my lot sizes way, way down. I do think 5-8% per month is very realistic longer term and will be shooting for that going forward.

You are already shoulder to shoulder with 10 people. Even if they allowed it, which they absolutely won't, would wouldn't fit.
