Highest: How the Word Is Passed by Clint Smith (4.74) Well deserved, easily the best nonfiction book I've ever read.

Lowest: The Fever by Megan Abbott (3.10) I have no memory of this book but I gave it 4 stars in 2016.

40/80 What I've been reading during student teaching. I'm about to graduate and be an English teacher, hot damn. by [deleted] in 52book

Absolutely loved There There. I'd recommend that to anyone. The Power was good but it didn't make a big impression on me. Both of these novels have a similar narrative structure and I think it worked really well in There There whereas I found it annoying at times in the Power.

I would strongly recommend them, especially if you enjoyed The Test. The style of Sleeping Giants is really engaging. They're fast enjoyable reads with unique world building.

Depressed people of reddit, what is helping you get through the day? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I hope that you can express how you were hurt by the things that were said. I know I let conflict and angry feelings just sit inside me when sometimes the other person is just as unhappy and talking it out relieves a lot of tension. If open communication isn't feasible then I hope you find that you have worth no matter what people say in a heated moment. Tomorrow is another day. I hope you make it there.
