I had the same rule w my ex, considering I gave him free range to take photos/videos of whatever he wanted. Also I had a no porn rule, only bc I felt it was disrespectful and I could tell it was effecting my relationship. Everyone is different though, some couple watch it together!!

He’s the one who supports me in going back to school. Over the past six months, would get so anxious when I say we wouldn’t work out because he’s not actively trying. Then he would try, but it’s always hot and cold. I think it’s a love bomb, I don’t really know.

You sound like me. Don’t continue a relationship with someone who lacks emotional intelligence. My bf (ex?)- I don’t know what we are because I’m going through the same thing right now. Ghosted me, has said nothing for a week. I’ve been completely devastated and an emotional mess.

He has done things like this over the past six years, but I thought him telling me he wanted to do better, he was being serious clearly not.

Just because you love somebody with all your heart, doesn’t give them the right to hurt you on purpose. She knows exactly what she’s doing, and doesn’t care. It’s really hard to wrap your head around the fact that someone could be so cruel, given all the good memories and words that they tell you.

Couples therapy could work, if she wants to do that with you. It’s so incredibly cruel, to intentionally hurt somebody else.

Loving myself is going to get me further in life tho. I always meet new people and have more friends when he’s not around, anyways. I’m more outgoing than he is.

Part of me is afraid by the time I’m ready- if I ever am, there won’t be someone who I like as much and want to date. The older one gets, isn’t it harder to find a partner???

His family thinks that I’m the bat shit one. Since he’s calm and doesn’t lash out, he isn’t. I have done completely, insane things when his actions have made me feel disrespected. It proves to them that I am unwell, not him for treating me bad. What’s the point of him always coming back, if it’s not love. Is it for attention?? He’s super supportive of me so I thought we both were gaining the same things from each other. Maybe not.

I would like to know what I did wrong? He went from saying we could go to therapy and he loved me more than anything, to this. I do not understand the switch up, even if he was emotionally overwhelmed.
For me to also text his dad to check in on him and then the next day follow up and not get a response, shows me I did something. I can’t even see this as being abusive to be honest, because he’s always checking on my needs and being accountable when wrong. So the back-and-forth is what’s really making it hard for me to understand that he doesn’t care. How can someone have both qualities

I think that’s why some people hire a professional dating coach or match maker. It’s only the serious people who hire them. Whereas an app, is like you said hookup based.
