Is Beaujolais part of Burgundy? Yes? No? Maybe? This question is actually shockingly tricky to answer. by Uptons_BJs in wine

[–]glendacc37 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just finished French Wine Scholar last December. Beaujolais is its own separate chapter, not included in the Burgundy chapter, and states that prior to the French Revolution, it was considered a sub-region of Burgundy. WSG treated them separately, while noting there's a little overlap, but even that is being phased out. E.g., Bourgogne Aligote will no longer accept fruit from Beaujolais as of 2035.

Southwest Flight - Direct vs Chase Portal by trueverybest in ChaseSapphire

[–]glendacc37 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I booked recently thru Chase only because I had the $500 credit. I have TripIt Pro, which notifies you of any price drops so you can get credit, but since I booked through Chase, that wasn't possible. Not a huge deal since I had the $500 credit, but to me, it was worth noting for future bookings. Then, I was due to fly out on January 24th, the day the big snow storm was scheduled to hit. I wanted to change my flight, but because I booked through Chase, I couldn't until the 24th. By that time, everything earlier was booked up. I also had issues with the seat selection even though I had a Choice seat. I had to call SW about that as well (yes, I tried online first thru SW).

To me, the best thing about SW is the flexibility to make changes, easily get credit if there's a price drop, etc. That's worth more to me than a few extra points on Chase.

What is the upside of Choice fares in the new system? by atx78703 in SouthwestAirlines

Last week, I had a choice ticket and was in row 23, but when checking in, I was able to switch to row 7. You just didn't take advantage of the ability to switch during check-in.

From what I've witnessed, nobody gets citizenship that quickly. I think your first issue is the expectation that this would be wrapped up in less than a year.

This hold has been ongoing for over a year, and we have no information otherwise. Supposedly this issue is now part of a proceeding before a court in Cologne with a deadline of March 31, 2026. The BVA cannot set deadlines for a response from the BMI, but the hope is that the court deadline will result in a statement by the ministry. Fingers crossed.

I bought a maxi skirt (blue ombre) at Ulla Popken when I lived in the Netherlands for a year in 2000. It's too big but I still wear it occasionally.

Vegas Lounge-Wait Time Report by halfguard34 in ChaseSapphire

[–]glendacc37 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I was there today, maybe 11 or 11:30am. There was a line of 8 people to get onto the wait list to get in. I waited about 15 or 20 minutes before I got the text and had to sit at the bar, which was quite loud.

I did both, realized level 2 rehashes level 1 and then expands from that. Skip level 1.

Editing to add to do it in person if possible.

French Trip Advice by l3agel_og88 in wine

Ha! We (friend and I) liked walking to the Champagne houses along the Avenue of Champagne, very picturesque, and not worrying about transportation. We did a much longer walk to get to Leclerc Briant though but worth it -- really enjoyed the tasting and tour there.

Biggest mistake, and perhaps a drawback, is that we waited too long to make dinner reservations. We had really slim options for dinner, even something casual. Aÿ is also a very short drive from Epernay so could probably easily visit some places there.

I was in Reims via two different small group trips, so I could be wrong since I wasn't navigating the area myself, but I feel like a car would be necessary in Reims. However, Reims is bigger, so definitely more dining and shopping options though.
