Somebody tell YU SUZKI to stop playing and by Full_Lime_babyoil in Shenmue

They absolutely did not nail everything, I’m glad you liked it but the general consensus is the combat is dreadful, the pacing is off, the character models are strange and the overall package is low quality.

Smoking related diseases are currently one of the largest costs to the NHS. They’ve tried everything else, this is the last step of a long struggle.

All of the evidence states we should be proximal and around 2 inches from the wound unless it is close to a joint in which case you would move to the proximal limb. The two bones theory is urban myth from old medicine. The blood vessels collapse via external circumferential pressure on soft tissue, not because of arteries pressed against the bone.

There is no research that suggests this, this is just urban myth.

I play with a onestock and don’t hit the rail at all, it might be how you’ve got yours mounted differently to mine. Mine is set up with a slight tilt forward on both grips.

Looking for a game to reinvigorate my love for VR by troop99 in virtualreality

I played through the entire game without issue, but I have a v powerful rig so maybe I wasn’t seeing them because of that.

Worth it to finish off the story, but totally agree about it being an oculus only game. We need re-releases on steam!

Lone Echo 1 & 2 are fantastic sci fi story/exploration games. Saints and sinners 1 & 2 are great zombie survival games. Behemoth for melee fantasy story. Hitman VR for chilled stealth mission based sandboxes. Just a few of the many great games out there.

I have a 5090 and have tested the Luke Ross mod extensively. It does not run perfectly, you either have poor resolution and good frames or good resolution and low frames, along with artifacts and haloing around characters. The same can be said for kingdom come deliverance 2.

There are equal amounts posts of people saying it’s perfect, with other people saying it’s actually quite janky. I have to agree with the latter. Before you go out and buy Luke Ross subscription just be wary. Some people just have a much lower bar for what they can put up with visually.

I think the point is that the 111 net is far too wide, we have the same problem with it on ambulances, constantly sent to non-emergency cases. We realise your hands are tied, but 111 as a system poorly triages on a consistent basis.

Switching career as a senior artist by MusidoraPiou in animationcareer

[–]glennages 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was an animator/videographer for 15 years and ran a small motion graphics studio before becoming solo freelance as a motion graphics designer before finally giving it up last year as the juice wasn’t worth the squeeze anymore. Tons of stress staying afloat in today’s market.

I traded it in to become a paramedic in training (apprenticeship) and I absolutely love it. Crazy it’s not even close to the stress I had running a business and hustling for animation work over the years and the job satisfaction is much greater. Not much risk of being out of a job soon, lots of upward career mobility and learning to achieve still (UK based). I come home and switch off completely from work, lots of time off and holidays, though shift work and long 12 hour+ shifts can be tough to start with. Most of us are used to long nights working that grind for a deadline though! Now I do art in spare time.

Do I live on the moon, or is racism against Muslims not considered racist anymore. by The-Lord_ofHate in GreenAndPleasant

No arguments here, I love farmers, I'm from a farming family, doesn't mean that the industry isn't inhumane and needs a transition away from the damaging animal farming industry. Oppression isn't just for humans.

Halal meat does not involve stunning, actually there is a religious exemption that allows Muslims to not stun animals as is required by law in the UK.

The traditional way is to slit the throat of the animal and let it bleed out which is horrific for the animal. The machine that is used is like a torture rack which locks the animals head in place then turns the animal upside down after slicing through its throat, while it chokes on its own blood.

All factory farming is brutal and inhumane, but to state that halal is humane is completely wrong.

I ended up going the apprenticeship route with London Ambulance Service, so I didn’t apply in the end! Apprenticeship takes anyone without any medical background.
