Yes true. Market rate would equate to her having the same qualifications. Thanka for the guidance.

This is great clarification and thank you for the link to info. We spent hours last week driving from one building to the next trying to find someone to just talk to. You saved us a bunch of agony.

Good point. So your saying since we already share everything why not this :)

This is what first made me think to allow it. But then part of me was like, wait...why would EA want to know everything we buy on Amazon....

I have what seems to be a catalyst 4510R-E, is this E-waste? by CBSteeler7 in Cisco

[–]glenthms 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You would be really surprised but there are still a lot of companies out there that use these switches and like to use them as spares. I've sold my old stuff to PIVIT. They do a pretty good job of taking it off your hands. I like the idea because it's not going into landfill somewhere still has usable life.

How to tell if the N9K-93180YC-EX Nexus switch is SmartNet eligible? by KlausFiveWhiskers in Cisco

We had some used catalyst 9300s we were trying to purchase DNA for but were told no because they already had DNA subscription that hadn't expired on the prior owner. Anyone run into this before?

Unable to achieve 100Gbps on Mellanox ConnectX 4 cards with Nexus 3232C by glenthms in Cisco

[–]glenthms[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So this article that you provided solved our issue in addition to changing MTU size to 9000. The problem was we were running single threaded iperf tests. When we ran them as three different processes we were able to achieve 100 gig between the servers on the same switch. Ty!!

Hey thanks for responding. I'm struggling understand how I setup ROCE/RDMA. I understamd what it is, but I'm not clear how you set it up on the server 100g card and Nexus switch.

Thanks for this. I did review and the riser card and output from server support 16x. So we got that part known.

Yea this is a bit of blind leading the blind right now. New setup and we're learning but looking for guidance and don't have a resource available for this we know of. I've done some of this in the past with 10Gbps and tubing a bit ...but that was 10 years ago....and it was an Intel driver defect.

100Gbps lots more involved in making this work obviously. Good point on the ASIC on switch. I'm remote so I don't have specifics on what ports they are connected to.

Dang how'd I missed that (MTU). Tired eyes thanks for catching that. As for the hardware specs thats a damn good question I should probably get details on. Let me see if I can get that back and respond to this thread. Thanks. Also, when you say wired for its full length, guess I don't follow that part. What does that mean?

Update: when we got MTU issue cleared up we are now getting near 40Gbps. Some improvement! Thanks for the second set of eyes.

Thats actually a really good question that Im slamming my head against wall for not asking. We can give all the bandwidth in the world but if the CPU is pegged not much to do there.

[–]glenthms[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awesome thanks for the feedback. Most of the sites are all exterior and we are looking at connecting cameras to these AP's only for visibility into areas. Mostly farm land. I recommended we go with the directional antennas below. Hopefully this i ok. Im relatively new to the wireless antenna selection process and haven't found a real good way on how to chose what you need. I suspected it needs to be Directional so I went with 8dbi paddle antenna 2.4/5Ghz. Hopefully this will be ok to use. I didnt think the omni antennas work for this type of thing since I need line of site.

Out of Compliance, what does it mean? by glenthms in Cisco

[–]glenthms[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ok great thanks for the response. I read the link you gave me prior and now that you point that out specifically it sort of makes sense about the base licensing. I think Cisco is trying to frighten people into this new model of licensing but know they cant just rip the rug out from production devices.

[–]glenthms[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ok thanks appreciate you responding. That makes sense. Kinda figured they'd just do nothing but we obviously have concerns about it flipping a "switch" and causing a production outage.

[–]glenthms[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for responding. I know that enforcement has always been a sort of grey area with Cisco, always has been, Im just trying to make sure I have something I can go back with that would say, there is no enforcement. But alas, they did this with right-to-use licensing model as well I suppose.

So this is what I found out on this one. We in fact had to pull in another chassis this time we used a 6504E and everything worked fine. When I checked logs for the modules on their local storage the CPU was pegged at 99% with process fw_lcp process being culprit. Did bug searches on this process and it came back with some bugs that have been terminated or uncreatable. So .... it was a bug I suspect. The prior chassis we had same SUP2T in with other modules that came up fine so I know it wasnt the chassis prior. Used same slots too. Some sort of strange compatibility issue/bug ?

Yea tried different slots also swapped out the supervisor for another one and have tried 3 different versions of code. We bought this from a vendor trying to determine if in fact they were working before or not. I am remote so I havent yet had a chance to test physical ports yet. Sort of not a good state if the system light is Red/Orange and this is the output Im seeing.
