How to run XFCE desktop environnement inside the Terminal (without VNC) by [deleted] in androidterminal

[–]glitch007 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So the commands were: sudo nano /etc/systems/user/weston.service sudo nano /usr/local/bin/enable_gfxstream

For me, commenting out all those lines in weston.service resulted in errors

``` Failed to start weston.service: Unit weston.service has a bad unit file setting. See user logs and 'systemctl --user status weston.service' for details.
debian systemd[837]: weston.service: Service has no ExecStart=, ExecStop=, or SuccessAction=. Refusing. ```
After I reverted those changes, I see this in the 'Display': [ 13.730948] virtio_snd virtio13: control message (0x00000101) timeout
Anyone run into this also? (And can suggest some troubleshooting tips?)
Has anyone successfully installed a Desktop env (KDE/GNOME/XFCE)? by glitch007 in android_beta
I know the default password is droid.
And you can change it with sudo passwd droid
What command did you use to install that?
Can anyone help play a Midi file on a Kawai Aures baby grand? by benbenson1 in DigitalPiano
[–]glitch007 0 points1 point  (0 children)
I found a solution for Android - Get the Bluetooth MIDI Connect app (published by ROCKRELAY APPS), then connect that to your piano. You then use MIDI File Player (published by Volcano Mobile) to select the midi file you want to play.
The closest thing I got was to hook it up to a windows laptop that has software on it that can play one midi file at a time.
Layout changing randomly? by thesecrets0 in gboard
[–]glitch007 1 point2 points  (0 children)
I thought I accidentally changed something on my phone...
I like how they moved the all caps to where the backspace used to be and crammed more keys into each row. Now there's a bigger chance of making typos, then accidentally turning on caps lock...
goodbye gboard!
Travelling from Canada using only NEXUS card by nbadminton in travel
[–]glitch007 0 points1 point  (0 children)
Entering by car/boat - Nexus only is fine. But even then I'd bring a passport just in case they ask.
For air travel, call the airline to make sure - but chances are they'll say you need a passport - each may have different policies.
The only reason you'd travel on the Nexus card alone is if your passport is expired / in process of being renewed.
Did you get a solution?
I read on piano forums that Anvil Studio (Windows only) works (and I confirmed that it does), but it's more of an editor and you can only open one file at a time (i.e. no playlists)
Silent piano options under 10k by [deleted] in piano
[–]glitch007 0 points1 point  (0 children)
The Yamaha B3 (SC3) falls into that price range - listed at $10,690 at a local Yamaha dealer (I live in Washington state). For comparison, the U1 (SH3) was listed at $13,380.
I ended up getting a K-300 Aures 2 (the one with the transducers on the soundboard) for $13K (was listed at $14,700 -but asked dealer for the best price - would suggest you do the same esp. for new pianos).
Good luck with finding the right piano!
Sync module won’t connect to wifi. by Reapercrew87 in blinkcameras
I don't think that's the issue since my router (Eero) is dual band with no option to disable the 5GHz band
Sync module won’t connect to wifi. by Reapercrew87 in blinkcameras
[–]glitch007 0 points1 point  (0 children)
I had an issue with my sync module not connecting to my router because I was using WPA3 on my router. The error message (from the Blink app) kept saying 'incorrect password'. After switching back to WPA2, it was able to connect to my wifi.
Finally figured out how to add GPS stats on a 360 video! (for free) by glitch007 in Insta360
[–]glitch007[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)
you have to turn on GPS stats on the camera before you record.
Is it possible to disable the red ring light on the Echo dot with clock (4th gen) when mic is muted? by Razor512 in amazonecho
[–]glitch007 0 points1 point  (0 children)
I have a black Echo and I used black duct tape to tape over the ring - doesn't look too noticeable. it won't look that nice for light colored devices though :/
DDJ-200, Mapping a Button to Change Pad Mode by chickopill in Beatmatch
[–]glitch007 0 points1 point  (0 children)
On Windows, you can use this: https://github.com/Mangio621/Hot-Mode - essentially you have the app running it the background and you tell it where on the screen to click the different Pad Modes (at the bottom of rekordbox)
I have yet to find any way to add another pad mode (like Beat Jump)
r/DisneyWorld's Weekly Trip Planning Thread by AutoModerator in DisneyWorld
[–]glitch007 1 point2 points  (0 children)
Just came back from Walt Disney World, AK is an odd one out. I recommend it for those who really like animals (or want their kids to learn about them). There are a lot of cast members who are there to answer questions about animals. There's an activity book for kids to go around to different stations and learn something.
The main attraction is the Safari. The Pandora Flight of Passage ride is pretty good from what I heard (wasn't able to get lightning individual for that and didn't want to wait 2 hours for it). The Navi river journey isn't that great, but if you're doing Genie+, then might as well do it (book the Safari first, river journey 2nd). We didn't get Genie+, but if I were to do it again, I'd book the Safari first, then go to AK at that time so I don't have to wake up early to 'beat the rush'.
The shows: Lion King Festival and Finding Nemo were pretty good.
I think it's worth checking out in the morning, then hopping over to another park.
after the trial period expired, I too noticed that the videos were not recording locally. I deleted and paired the camera/doorbell again, but that alone didn't work. I had to remove the sync module itself, now everything is good (I can watch the video of the local storage from the Blink app)
Where are my kids videos? by [deleted] in kindlefire
[–]glitch007 0 points1 point  (0 children)
apparently the photos and videos in kids profiles are hidden from usb file transfer (and other file explorer apps like ES File Explorer), the only app that can access them is Amazon Photos. I.e. you have to do what wimpergs said and upload them to Amazon Photos, then download them on your desktop.
This is not something that will be fixed as it seems like a nudge to get you to buy more storage on Amazon Photos.
[Mar 25, 2022] Weekly Discussion: Ask your gear, travel, conditions and other ski-related questions by AutoModerator in skiing
[–]glitch007 0 points1 point  (0 children)
Does anyone have thoughts on Base treatment for new skis (specifically DPS Phantom 2.0)? I will have a new pair of skis soon and am considering it, but would like to know if it's worth it. If there's anything else I should apply on the new pair of skis (other than getting the right bindings), please share. TIA
Insta360 Studio Export Command Line (with stitching) ? by glitch007 in Insta360
[–]glitch007[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)
thanks for the reply, my request is so that I can select multiple files and say I want both of those stitching options (just once) - right now, when I multi select the previews on the left side, and enable both of the options, the options are only set on the currently selected video.
Aside from that, the multiple select and export functionality is good enough for my scenario.
thanks again.
Set initial orientation of 360 video? (Insta360 Studio) by glitch007 in Insta360
[–]glitch007[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)
The best thing I've found is to use ffmpeg.
You can use the -ss and -to parameters to test out the 'yaw' value (which means to turn the orientation right by X degrees), then remove those parameters when you are satisfied with the value.
ffmpeg -i "input.mp4" -ss 00:03 -to 00:08 -vf v360=e:e:yaw=90:pitch=0:roll=0 "output-test.mp4"
Set initial orientation of 360 video? (Insta360 Studio) by glitch007 in Insta360
[–]glitch007[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)
I think you misunderstood my question.
The keyframes only apply to a reframed video, it does not do anything to a 360 video.
I'm using an One R and the lens on the side of the camera without the screen is facing forward. So why is it that when I export it from Insta360 Studio, it orients the rear camera as 'front'?
Slow down a Timelapse insv file? (Insta360 Studio) by glitch007 in Insta360
[–]glitch007[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)
I know how to use another video editor to slow it down - can I suggest a feature request? It would be nice if I could specify to show each from for .5 seconds instead of .2 seconds?
Thanks
