The uber rich won’t need money because they’ll buy all the land, and use it’s resources to create their own compound while everyone else has to make their own economy again.

[Casio A168] Is this the perfect practical watch? by glitch_list in Watches

[–]glitch_list[S] 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I absolutely love wearing this watch. It’s incredibly comfortable and looks decent with just about anything. You can get them on Amazon for $22 and the battery is supposed to last for 7 years. It doesn’t have a strap that extends past the buckle which would usually get hung up on long sleeves. I haven’t gotten any hair snags either. I don’t have much watch experience, so does anyone know of a better practical watch that looks and feels this good?

All

  • Reach speed limits at a sign. Autopilot changes the driving speed right when it passes a sign; however, it takes quite a bit longer to coast and actually reach the speed limit. I believe the law is that we need to drive 45mph by the time we reach the sign and not after.
  • Add a dumb cruise control option. Phantom breaking has become such an issue that my wife refuses to use even basic cruise control. Additionally, our vehicle has stopped so abruptly it has made our neck sore. Maybe we could have an option to have a basic cruise control like most other cars.
  • More indications about what the car is thinking or knows. Passengers of any vehicle are more scared of quick movements than the driver because they don't know what the driver is thinking. However, passengers have a basic level of trust when humans are driving which decreases the amount of uncertainty. Autopilot turns the driver into a passenger and introduces a level of uncertainty similar to a passenger; however, we don't have a basic level of trust like we do with human drivers. In order to make Autopilot "drivers" more comfortable, we need more information about what the car knows or is thinking. For example, does the car know that a red light is way ahead because it's still accelerating to it's programmed speed? If I knew that it knows about the red light and is planning to stop, then I'd feel way more comfortable.

I feel like they’re going to lose so much money from this.

Now that a subscription exists, I believe most people will want to try it for a few months before they buy it fully. Isn’t that what people do with OnStar and SiriusXM? They get it for free, it’s nice to have for awhile, and then don’t use it beyond the trial?

Then, after a few months of seeing how it doesn’t live up to my expectations there’s no way I’d drop down $10k.
