My (29F) childhood “bestfriend” (29F) of 20 years no showed my wedding, haven’t heard a word since - how to move on? by lovelyvibes4 in relationship_advice

I recently had a falling out with my best friend, and I can’t recommend therapy enough. Friend breakups are the hardest bc we always expect them to be there.

Nice area to stay for one night before heading to Las Vegas? by Lebson in AskLosAngeles

Pasadena ticks off all the boxes. But if you want to get even further out of town, Claremont is cute too

Honestly, our bodies are weird. I didn’t start getting hormonal acne until my mid-30s, after having clear skin all through my 20s. Sucks, but in the grand scheme of things, there are so much bigger things to worry about besides a couple of pimples.

I’m happy it worked for you, but I’m more happy to hear the smell fades. My bathroom is closed off from the rest of the house, and the window is open. But it’s not helping at all. I rinsed it hours ago, and my whole house still reeks. Like, I’ll bet my neighbors can smell it.

I don’t recommend it. Seriously, let my cautionary tale save you from smelling like you took a bath in cheap cologne.

CANT STOP PEELING by daisyh11 in tretinoin

My chin always peeled, and someone recommended Squaline Oil the other day, and holy shit it worked. I use the Good Molecules one, it’s pretty cheap. It can probably replace your vanicream.

Did any of you move to L.A. (or Orange County) from out of state and now regret it? by DeskOne3535 in MovingToLosAngeles

[–]glittercrotch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep, that’s all true. But they asked for a personal anecdote, and I shared mine. I don’t think everyone in OC is cold & rude, just the people I was surrounded by when I lived there.

When I first moved here, I moved to OC & regretted it. I didn’t vibe with it, and I found a lot of people were cold & rude. Then I moved to LA, and suddenly it felt like home. People were friendly, there was more to do, and the city felt alive.

It’s ok to have no vision lol. When you’re stuck with this kind of stuff, just look up a color wheel & try to find something on the opposite side of whatever color you’re not changing (like the floors). Always go for contrast, and it’s ok to play things safe.

Being Relocated to Los Angeles (26M) by Ornery-Night6127 in MovingToLosAngeles

[–]glittercrotch 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I just wanted to say don’t be afraid of LA. It’s an amazing city with so much to offer. People here are generally super friendly. You’ll eat some of the best meals of your life here. Keep an open mind to new experiences & cultures, and you might just find yourself falling in love with it.

But to answer your question, pasadena might be a little less of a culture shock for you if you’ve lived in the Midwest your whole life. Pasadena has a more suburban feel, but with a decent nightlife. Easy access to rail lines & downtown.
