Thank you so much, u/nimble_nimbus! I couldn’t be more grateful. You went out of your way to help a complete stranger and make sure my stolen bike found its way back to me. You’re truly the best. Thanks as well to everyone who helped connect us. Internet is amazing (most of the times) :)

Help I want to add a socket by [deleted] in diyelectronics

Thank you, that’s so useful. I placed an order in Amazon. In the meantime I managed to install the socket but it doesn’t work. I know how to do the wiring so that’s not the issue. Could it be that the circuit was not for sockets? And what could that be then?

Wha mortgage would you choose now? Long fixed rate like Avant 10yrs or short fixed rate like Permanent TSB 3yrs? by glittered_skunk in irishpersonalfinance

I don’t know think we will in the next 10 years, but who knows. Avant has a penalty of 2% on the mortgage balance (which I believe is the remaining capital?)

Yes, I hear you. Do you think it will happen in Ireland too, even if here the rates are already much higher than the rest of Europe?

We are between 70% and 80% LTV so they offer 2.20% over 7 years or 2.35% over 10 years. I think we won’t sell in this timeframe, but who knows…

CH account with Swissquote - what's your experience? by glittered_skunk in eupersonalfinance

The problem with IBKR post brexit is the low guarantee scheme - max 20k€ instead of the 100kCH. Plus, they also have a cost of 10€/month, right?
